Crackberry is a strange place to have this conversation, but I still think that modern iOS can solve most of the issues you've raised. With respect to the multiple language input, you could use the SwiftKey keyboard app, which has this feature as it is the same company that did the BlackBerry 10 virtual keyboard (and its great prediction engine).

You can also get the font support you want with Bytefont, a Cydia app. This would require a jailbreak, but that's no more difficult than putting a leaked OS on a BB10 device. Endless choices there and I've never had a problem related to jailbreaking an iPhone.

I'm not sure about physical keyboards you could use, because I don't use them (Z30 and iPhone 6+ for me), but I've seen some options out there.

    Good luck, OP!
I've got a Logitech bluetooth keyboard for my iPad mini.
I'm not a fan of bluetooth, I frequently have to send short emails, so a connected, constant-om keyboard would be preferable. But it would be accptable.
A better and equally mobile solution is one of my two 8" Windows 8 tablets, though.
I have the Dell Venue 8 Pro with the keyboard/cover combo. And I have the Lenovo ThinkPad 8, should I need higher solution.
I could combine Windows 8 tablet and Passport.
But that's exactly what I had done before. Back then it was a combo of iPhone 4S (= extremely compact and mobile) and Dell Venue 8 Pro (Outlook on a full blown Windows 8 tablet with keyboard).
But if I go for that combo, I've exchanged one niche product (iPhone) with another one (Passport).
I simply expect more from BlackBerry than from iOS.

The OP has a right to their opinion and to be able to put that opinion forward. I have been a Blackberry user since the 957 and have use both BES and BIS in the past. I am on my 3rd BB10 device (Z10, Z30 and Passport). I love my Passport, but I also have concerns that BB10 is not developing business features fast enough.
    1. Font options and better visual controls for signatures should have been available by now.
    2. BB10 is geared more towards Exchange than Google Apps for Work. I work in 2 businesses that using Google Apps for Work. In the old BBOS I could apply labels and archive in gmail. In BB10 after 2 years I have very limited Google Apps services (Email, Calendar and Contacts). I understand the limitations that Google puts on being able to integrate into Google services, but I do expect that Blackberry should either find a solution with Google or develop a work around (RIM had to develop their own work around for Microsoft products when they got started).
    3. Link is lacking in backup and restore functionality. I load most leaked OS's onto my phones. Restoring has always lead to issues and the restore options are very limited. On the old DTM and BBOS we had the ability to restore a larger number of settings. Personally I would like to be able to restore browser bookmarks, shortcuts, speed dial, call logs, etc individually. Ideally I would like to backup all settings using my BBID to a secure online service and download when I wish.
    4. Blend is beautiful and one of the best new features BB10. It will improve over time and I expect that in the future it will be my primary method access to my email and PIM services on a laptop or tablet.
The business persons tool of choice is moving from the desktop/laptop to mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. But users expect that the services and user experience they had on the desktop/laptop will be available them on the mobile device of their choice. I chose blackberry and now I am looking to Blackberry to enhance my user experience.
This is not a complaint....it is MY opinion.
Thanks for accepting my descriptions for what they are.
I'm not an Apple fanboy, bashing another product.
I love my Passport in so many ways and have high hopes for BB10, that's why I'm frustrated about some issues, which seem easily solvable and helpful for lots of users.

    Blend is a great example.
    Fantastic tool.
When my problems with the Exchange server became obvious, I've either used webmail or Blend.
But when I'm typing my mails on a PC anyway: Would it be that complicated then, to integrate font options, for example?
I understand, it may be complicated on a mobile platform. Just, in my case, choosing between 4 signatures on a small display might not be that comfortable. But why not offer more options via PC and Blend, than directly on Passport?

What is the app gap you are referring to? What are you trying to do?
    3 examples:
    - Xing, the Central European counterpart of LinkedIn. The Android app, via Amazon, Snap or Google Play Store is painfully slow. I'm doing lots of research about candidates, clients and markets in this app. On Passport, for now I've reverted to the website.
    - Navigon. I use this navigation software on every platform and in my wife's car even have a stationary one. The Android port works via Amazon, but it's not a good experience re. battery consumption and speed.
    - TripAdvisor. Planning my trips. Via Google Play it works even without patching. But I'm nitpicky: The popup message "Google Play Services needed" annoys me.

I'm sometimes reminded about my experience with PlayBook.
I bought it at the very beginning for a premium on iPad price level.
It blew iPad out of the water, I even loved (and still love) the design.
But the app gap became more and more frustrating.
In the beginning, I liked hunting for Android apps. But after some time it simply became tiresome. It's time consuming, doesn't always work and after a while, when having 70% Android apps, it hurts my enthusiasm about the platform.

    I probably have to elaborate:
We're offering end-to-end services re. "Human Capital": Interims Management, Coaching, Recruitment, ...

If client A purely needs Coaching, this would be solvable.
But what if contact 1 in client A needs other services than contact 2 in the very same client? Easiest way: In Outlook I manually add 1 of 4 signatures.

Well, I admit, this may be too complicated and unique a task.

    So, next example:
Client 1 last week may have been talking about Coaching, but this week about Interims Management.
Can you imagine the pain, finding my way through the emails without automatically grouping?
I don't know, why grouping by conversation doesn't work for this specific Exchange account. All I can tell: When trying the very same setting on 3 relatively "primitive" systems, it's been working out of the box.

It seems ike you are trying to separate your business into notional divisions and you work in all of them! I'm still not sure why separate email accounts won't do the trick. Modifying your signature all the time isn't that easy. If you manage all these divisions why not one title? As to grouping by conversation or subject this should ne workable. I can sort by subject.

a.) This app exists on every single other platform. Even Windows Mobile has less of an app gap, although being the least established system (re. time in the market)
b.) It's one of my main tools. For the Central European market, it has a way better coverage than LinkedIn.

So I can't define any logic:
Client XYZ can be for all 4 mail signatures.

    Re. "why not one title":

Without going into details: I'm working as a freelancer. Would I exclusively work for a single entity, German law would consider this kind of a "hidden" employment and force me into an employment role.
Second of all, roles change with regards to the projects. In project #1, I may be the operational specialist (for example finding engineers to place in the client), in project #2 I may have the Key Account Role. In project #3, I may have a consultancy role.
Maybe Germans (my main clientele) are more aware of titles: If I would present myself to, let's say, operational staff in Human Resources as "shareholder and VP of manufacturing division", those people would say "we don't want to work with a manager, we want to work with someone doing the actual job". On the other hand, if I approach C-Level about a frame contract, a business card such as "Consultant Recruitment" would not open too many doors...
May seem a bit tricky. But we're a start-up with only 150 people for now, so everyone is feeling more than one shoe.

    Yes, but without notifications.
And, following that logic, we could do without 50% of all apps.
Apps simply are more convenient and easier to manage.

Changing fonts? Adding a photo to your signature? Really??? This is why it's not satisfying for business needs? For one thing, if you really want to portray a professional view of your business, you should not be adding any images to your signature. And the font is fine the way it is for now although maybe adding other ones could be useful to some people but I don't see it as a deal breaker at all, especially since you can format the text. And regarding conversations, I don't have that problem with my Exchange account so it again doesn't apply and it's either a limitation on your account or you could try deleting and re-adding email sync to see if it gets fixed. Hardly reasons to create such a ridiculous thread but that's just my opinion.

    Again:
    I merely state my experience.
For my personal needs, Passport unfortunately doesn't solve many of my problems. It even adds a few new problems.
I'm not adding a photo to my signature and nowhere stated this. But hyperlinks, buttons to my Xing profile and job openings and a corporate logo. If you check emails from big corporates, you'll see that most have specific CI guidelines. You're basically saying, it's acceptable to stick to the CI on PCs, but ignore it on mobile devices. Good luck making business with agencies or certification centric companies!

And, again for the 10th time:
Yes, it obviously is my Exchange account, since all other accounts on Passport group fine.
But guess what: I don't want to reinvent the wheel for a feature, that's working flawlessly on 3 other platforms (iPhone 4S, Surface Pro 3 Windows 8 apps [not Outlook] and Nokia Lumia 920) and only makes troubles on Passport. Do I have to modify the Exchange architecture, to make a standard feature work? Why is it working on a dumb end customer platform like iOS but not on the business centric Passport?

And, last but not least: You're not in my shoes. So you can hardly check and comment, whether working without grouped emails in email trails covering dozens of mails is "less than satisfying for me or not". And that's all I'm saying: For me it's quite a letdown, facing such problems on the supposedly most advanced business platform.

I had planned to use Passport as my powerhouse for emails while on the train.
But for now, I can't use 2 out of my 3 core needs. My dumb iPhone, which I wanted to replace out of frustration, was able to deliver 2 out of 3. So does the young Windows Mobile architecture.
I don't want to move back to them. But -and that's all I said- personally I'm less than satisfied with Passport for now. And I'm using it since end of September, so I really gave it some time...

It just sounds like you are not really a BB person, and you should stick to something else. A lot of things you talk about, can be subjective. You just have a lot of 'wants' it seems, and not a lot of needs. Your expectations are more of a 'rant' than anything to me. Go with what works for you.

I've got my Passport since end of September.
I was really enthusiastic about it.
But now, after I've actually used it for business needs, basically only 3 things are left:
a.) I love the keyboard and the fantastic predictions.
b.) I love the over all design and the display.
c.) I'm still, since my very first BlackBerry in 2004, a huge fan of the LED.

    But:
If I compare to my dumb iPhone 4S, which I found ridiculous for business, Passport unfortunately even can do less:
1.) I can't change fonts in emails, I can't add a "professional" signature with company logo and such.
    Not better than iPhone 4S.
2.) In one of my Exchange accounts, grouping by conversation doesn't work.
I find this essential, often enough I need the email trail.
It probably is my account, probably not sticking to some conventions.
Anyway, grouping on iPhone 4S, Lumia 920 and Surface Pro 3, to name only a few, is working just fine with the very same settings.

    And:
There are lots of great ideas.
But most of them only in theory are useful, in daily business most of them fail.
For example, Link in the meantime really annoys me. I've got, for whatever reason, 3 orphaned PCs listed in the file explorer.
Why can't I simply access my BlackBerry ID and manually delete these orphans?
And remote access is hit and miss.

I could go on forever, but to summarize:
I've had the 64GB PlayBook from the very beginning (still have it, but only rarely use it anymore) and see lots of similarities to my PassPort:
From a hardware and design perspective, I love them both.
Both have an enormous app gap.
Yes, of course I have Snap and Google Play on my PassPort. But I find it a compromise at best. Performance isn't really great and frankly I don't want to bother with Google Play Services and such. And when I use Taskmaster, I find surprisingly many Android Apps running in the background, which certainly is one explanation for the sometimes not so great performance and battery life. I'm envious, when I see some claiming battery durations of 30 hours. I only can imagine, those are mainly standby values. When I'm using my PassPort for business, battery life is about the same as on my iPhone 4S before: I barely make it through the day. Thats maybe 6 hours of average constant use (calls and mails mostly).
So, given the app gap, I mostly would use my PassPort for 2 core tasks: Mails and calls.
For calls it's flawless, way better reception and speech quality than iPhone 4S.
But for eMails, I probably have to get back to my 8" Windows 8 tablets (Dell Venue 8 Pro and Lenovo ThinkPad 8) with Outlook.

    Meaning:
I'm surprised and disappointed about the limited business capabilities. And I see lots of flaws and issues.

    BTW:
    I've tried most leaks.
They add some great features and show, what BB10 could be.
Configuring the LED is fantastic and this feature alone blows iPhone out of the water.
Still: I'll give it a few more tries, but I'm starting to loose patience and my enthusiasm already has declined drastically...

Do you really find it outstanding for common business tasks?

That's just what I was about to say. If your needs for a mail client are so stringent, then take your laptop or Windows tablet with you on a trip. I don't think any one smartphone platform will satisfy all the requirements you stated, nor should it have to.

Where I work, it's exactly the opposite.
There's a corporate guideline (CI) for fonts, font colors and sizes.
I'm not adding anything, I'm following guidelines.
Only difference: I'm in all 4 entities, whereas most are in a single one and can stick to a single email signature.
True: This complicates things. If this would be the only problem, I'd say "my demands are too exotic and only can be solved via Outlook".

But I'm coming back to the next issue: Grouping by conversation.
It's a feature in the hub and something other email clients offer for years.
It's essential and for this Exchange server is working on 3 of my 4 tested platforms. Passport respectively BB10 being the single exception, that can't handle it.
Again: It's most likely an issue of our Exchange architecture. But when it's working on 3 other platforms, each less advanced for business needs, I'm simply pointing towards the single exception that's causing me problems.

But lastly I no longer am frustrated ripping my hair out at the roots to get touch typing accurate and certainly not by all the backspacing!!!

Finally, I don't think any recipient of email expects that if they received an email from a mobile device it will have all the bells and whistles (logos, etc) that you have from a PC.
I've seen projects lost for reasons, maybe seeming strange to some.
In one instance, an HR director did cancel a project, because one of my colleagues repeatedly was sending emails on weekends. Quote: "Your work-life balance seems out of order, I'm not working with such a company".
Not relevant here, I just wanted to point out an example, what aspects to consider when writing and sending emails.
In another instance, we've lost a project, because the client stated "you (one of my colleagues) are sending me a consultancy report for a project with savings of € 150 millions while on the road from a mobile device? I should be worth the effort to send it professionally from a PC from a hotel or office".
May seem ridiculous. But after having experienced such situations, one of my first activities on every mobile unit is changing the signature from "sent by mobile device" to something more neutral.

As for your first point (sort of ridiculous because it should be re-titled to say "...MY...): Yes, it's my personal needs, Passport doesn't suit (yet?). But like I wrote repeatedly: The grouping feature, which is a huge annoyance, works on 3 other platforms, only Passport can't handle it. It's not "wishful thinking". It's "I never would have imagined there could be problems about a standard feature I'm using constantly on my other platforms". And I know dozens of people, making extensive use of the grouping feature.

Your suggestion "search by subject line" is quite unrealistic. There will be endless emails like "our phone call" or "proposal as discussed". In the emails I'm writing myself, I could try to find some methodology, for example having the project number in the subject line. But I can't influence the way, my clients write their emails. And those are essential to the email trail.
And: I don't want so search for a specific email. Often enough, I wouldn't even know what to search for. I need the entire email trail in kind of a "folder" structure, to be able to scroll through the history of a project. Often enough, the email trail starts with topic A and then drifts towards topic B. Searching for A never would come to mind, when checking B.

Your other suggestion "just get 4 different email accounts" doesn't help either.
    Simple situation:
Contact A in Client 3 sends me an email about project XYZ. Project XYZ is for legal entity #1.
Then, in the same or another email, the very same contact refers to project ABC in legal entity #2.
With 4 different email accounts, I would have separate email trails, although it had been the same conversation.
Way more transparent and to my needs: The client sends his email always to the very same email account. I have a single conversation, even if it may cover 2 or 3 topics. I may respond with a different signature, depending on the topic, so my contact can forward this email to his people and they feel "at the right place".

    Re. Xing:
First of all, it's not that exotic a platform.
Second of all, re. traffic LinkedIn and Xing are close in Germany (my main market for now): LinkedIn berholt Xing in Deutschland
But I don't care about traffic anyway, I care about members in Germany and the neighboring countries.
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Xing has about 6 million registered users. That's one of the pools of potential candidates I'm fishing in.
Our experience simply shows, that we find more candidates faster in Xing than in LinkedIn in our core markets. For my colleagues in UK, it's exactly the opposite.

Our business needs are evidently different! I'm much more enthused about the Passport than when I initially bought it (a few weeks ago).

The screen size (and clarity) is fantastic and is a huge step change forwards from my old Q10.

Balance seems to work well and I have a client email(/calendar) account controlled via Balance. (Client is happy, as they don't have to supply me with their own device).

Have far more email accounts up and running than I used to be able to have on my Q10 (I know this is an issue that not everybody suffered from).

Email and calendar (integration) are excellent.

Docs to Go works really well for me - whilst out and about this afternoon, I managed to edit 3 draft PowerPoints and amend a spreadsheet (and I edit Word docs all the time whilst on the train in the morning). This type of thing was not practical/possible on my old Q10.

Battery easily lasts me a whole day (and usually two....), it's rare I have less than 40% left, even after an 18 hour day.

    Biggest gripes?
    • Not being able to edit existing contacts in Blend (I can add new contacts, just don't seem to be able to edit existing ones - I've been told that this is fixed in 10.3.1....)
    • Phone is unwieldy to hold up to my ear (though most calls I make are in Speaker-Phone mode)

You are comparing apples to waatermelons!!!

There is no comparison, as I accomplish what you described by using a few key apps and for me works flawlessly for my business. Their are terrific apps for digital signatures, apps to maintain multiple exchange accounts, and finally the large battery life is definately an upgrade from the all touch Iphones! But lastly I no longer am frustrated ripping my hair out at the roots to get touch typing accurate and certainly not by all the backspacing!!!

    That alone is an upgrade,no!?

Again: Grouping emails to me is a core functionality in managing emails.
And it's an explicit feature ("sort by conversation") on BB10.
But it simply doesn't work for my Exchange account, although this very same account is working on 3 other, less advanced, platforms.
This alone is a significant downgrade.

I did love my Passport as well. And I still like it. But the deeper I dive in, the more the love cools down.

It just sounds like you are not really a BB person, and you should stick to something else. A lot of things you talk about, can be subjective. You just have a lot of 'wants' it seems, and not a lot of needs. Your expectations are more of a 'rant' than anything to me. Go with what works for you.
    Lots of wants?
    Not really!
I have 3 core needs for emails (on whatever platform):
    - Signatures with hyperlinks, CI conformity and such.
    - Fonts, font colors and font sizes.
    - Grouping by conversation.

Most platforms (iPhone, Windows Mobile, Windows 8 apps w/o Outlook, ...) can handle the latter 2 (fonts most can't change, but at least font colors and font sizes).
For signatures, one often enough has to revert to 3rd party tools or stick to standard text.

It's my fault, I admit it.
I didn't do any research, I simply would have hoped, BB10 is offering more than, let's say, iOS.
But now, even the grouping by conversation doesn't work.
Yes, it's most likely the Exchange server. But as long as the other platforms can manage, I point towards BB10 as my sole negative exception.

And re. to "you are not really a BB person": I'm not. Neither am I a Windows 8 or Android or iOS person. I own 44 tablets respectively smart phones: 8+ Readers in comparison - MobileRead Forums
I really don't care, what to use. I'm using what's working best and in 3 months maybe move on. Or I'm using 2 or 3 units in parallel.
    My simple thoughts had been:
    - I don't like iOS, way to "caged in". Great gadgets, mediocre tools for "professional" needs.
    - I did prefer Android for some time, at least it has an open file system and I efficiently can manage my data.
    - Windows 8, for me, did beat Android re. flexibility and openness and is my favorite platform for now. But, on a short business trip, I'd prefer not taking a tablet with me all the time. 8" tablets are mobile enough, but of course a phablet is even more convenient to take in your suit pocket.
So Passport did seem the ideal solution. I at least should be able to do the same as on iOS, but with a keyboard and better word predictions. This would have been enough for me. But without email conversations, I can do less now than on iPhone...
