What's up guys my touch sensor keyboard
on my passport is not working now. not sure it's
because of a recent OS install (10.3.3.2129)
Laptop kb's usually have the backlight & non backlit options,
so I'm assuming this is the case for cell phones? not sure.

If anyone can point out what's the difference or
has installed this that would be greaatt!

    cheers.

I'm far from the expert on this, but...

There are 3 distinct format variations of the PP. The original PP with the squared off bottom, the AT&T-exclusive rounded-off PP, and the PP Silver Edition (SE). The AT&T and the SE are pretty similar and may use the same PKB, but the original model is definitely different. All of the color variants are based on the original device (white and red).

I personally never seen a non-backlight keyboard be qwerty or numerical on any cell phone!
    So that is that!
As troy said there are 3 different PP's versions. Just pick one that is related to what PassPort you have!
Also I assume you already tested the reboot and reset and wipe and autoloader and non was any use!

Hey thx for that. Firstly, now that I recall the touchpad was
working as it had too in order to pass the tutorial when I initially
    got the phone.

The reason I'm skeptical is I asked a
seller on ebay selling the keyboard and asked him if
it had touch sensor capabilities and he replied probably not.
so dunno if he doesn't know 100%

Model check is ok I have the AT&T version, just
really want to avoid wasted time and a return.

    1 note.
I did see on a foreign site this keyboard had touch
sensor option and was significantly more expensive
at about $45 (stating genuine) & had 2 more ribbons
towards the bottom as I recall than the rest.
Any rebuttal? or should be the same?

I'll update this post if this pans out.

I think that replacement keypads generally works fine. I bought one for my Passport SE for at least half the price you mention, no problems with touch. I've bought quite a lot of spareparts for both BlackBerry phones and others. I'd say there is seldom problems. Functionality and fit use to be just great and price may differ a lot, not always (but sometimes) indicating a better quality.
