Have you tried a device OS reload through BlackBerry link? It should give you 3.1 now. Do not restore from a backup. If this doesn't solve your problem then call BlackBerry service

Make sure it's not a "pay attention to me" on/off. Is it actually Flickering or is it flashing on/off at even intervals?

.......a "pay attention to me" on/off.......???
    Where can I find this?

Edit: I think that I found the problem
The keyboard light flickering only when screen tips appears (yellow banner)

Yah, that's a tutorial effect, emphasizing a swipe up or down. Once you've got that down (done it enough to prevent the tooltip) ir should go away.

I had the same reaction :P

Mine isn't flickering, in fact when I use it at night the keyboard lights up automatically, so maybe during the day, if the pp sensor picks up bits of shade it thinks it's dark and the keyboard light come on? I'm on the latest version 10.3.1.1779

Is it more like a wave across the keyboard?
If so I had the same thing going on during back spacing or deleting with the back button.

It's the keyboards why of saying swipe me to delete the words.
After you use the keyboard to delete words a couple times, it will then stop flashing/wave.

Un install all apps which are not native, back up, then a re-boot will sort it. Be sure to monitor it especially if you install an app then it suddenly starts, then at least you can un install then see if it happens, if so then there's your problem. Same thing happened to me, and now I'm fine. Good luck pal.

    Hi,

I too freaked out when I noticed the keyboard blinking. However, quickly noticed it was only when it was trying to get my attention, and yes those yellow banners were up on the screen as well telling me what to do. I was quite impressed with how the passport responds to our gestures and mistakes and tries to help correct them. Don't fear like I did lol
