it might have been cool to place the hinge on the inside of the case instead of the outside. there's some wiggle room under the phone, depending on thickness.

Oem hardshell is useless. Well, the white one anyway. It's more slippery than soap
I had the black OEM hardshell on my black Passport and it add a helluva ton more grip for me. And like another poster here said, sometimes too much grip that it would invert my dress pants pockets when I'd pull it out.

thank you for updating the thread, i love this. though, it's arguably 'more' frankenstein.

I have the flex shell for the OG passport, and have also had it for the SE. Both are nice, but I find the SE version to be nicer with a better feel and more clicky stand that locks in better.

Man, that looks like ****.... Why not just get a flip case?
Hahaha pmsl. Don't hold back do you? Loving the frankencase. You should copyright it and put it on dragons den. I'd buy into that.

Joking aside though. I have the hard shell and some cheapy rubber one which is very effective. Generally the hard case for kicking round the house in case I knock it off the table (hardly ever use) the rubber full cover one I use on site, lots of protection but is a bit bulky.

IMHO, there can be only one though and that's the Stilgut http://www.stilgut.com/blackberry-pa...ype-black.html not sure of its availability worldwide but if you can get one do. Not the cheapest but it oozes quality, comes in various leather and colours, adds minimal weight and bulk to the phone, fits very snuggly and has a built in magnet for shutting off the screen when closed which improves battery life immensely. Also has an opening so you can view the led when closed.

Can't recommend it enough. Covers all corners and face and slips off the device without any forcing or bending.

imho the Passport does not need any shell.

Wouldn't be a bit surprised if BlackBerry buy the patent off you and make it the new oem case.

I have flex shell which is good
I also have the Amzer shell which is also good

The flex is makes next to no difference to phone size
the amzer is a little thicker and offers more protection.
The amzer is in two parts a rubberised shell and a holster the phone with shell fits into the holser. the holster has a clip out stand a bit like the flex shell.

these are best two for passport.

I use the amzer over the flex but only because I found I can use the holster as a car cradle. both are good.

steer clear of those old fasioned book type covers

I have only used the flex shell, and I will buy another. Biggest factor for me is that, even with average size hands for a man, the size of the Passport makes it difficult to hold one-handed in my favorite position--laying on my side in bed. lol
Anyway, if you extend the kickstand, it creates a loop that you can stick one of your fingers through. Now, I can hold it one handed watching videos while lying on my side without even gripping the phone.
