I think round edges and the Classic keyboard feel would enhance it drastically...

The problem is the square screen. A 4:3 screen gives you the same size screen (diagonal) on a narrower taller device. The Passport would have been much more successful IMO. This concept could actually replace both the Classic and Passport with one better device or at least that is what I would do.

If they could make the PP2 thinner and lighter, that would be great. Maybe even shave half a centimeter off each side to make it 8 cm wide and not 9 cm wide that would help tremendously with fitting it into tighter pockets.

You can not do this with a square screen. You end up with a smaller screen.

You just might have something there!I know a lot of photographers who chose the 3:2 frame over the 1:1 or 16:9 for their photos as it has a more natural perspective.

It wouldn't be a Passport then. I love the weight too.

Anybody using a pocket sleeve/slip in case? That's how I've always preferred to carry my BlackBerrys: naked in a slip in sleeve. I always loved the leather ones by BlackBerry themselves.

Well you know just my thoughts. It's a great phone and I love it...but if I could improve it to suit my needs, that's what I would do.

From AudiophileON - "1. Do not shoot for your square screen

The Blackberry Passport as I am pretty sure you know by now has a square screen. The issue with that is that Blackberry has adjusted the Camera's resolution to shoot square photos. Now I like the square photo look but I would rather start with a regular 4:3 format photo, getting as many Megapixels in and crop having the option to crop down. To do this just go into the camera settings and change the Ratio setting from 1:1 to 4:3... there you go you now have a 13 megapixel camera...magic."

As long as it has a 4-row keyboard. Bb just needs to lose the face logo, and then we're flush with space for a 5-row keyboard if we really wanted!

The Passport is the best phone I've ever had. I actually think it's perfect, including build quality. I think the minor concession to do with size/form factor is completely acceptable. The iPhone to me is more of a toy, and my friend's one bent in his pocket recently. I guess we can afford to be concerned with first world issues such as an inability to use it with one hand. But it was designed pretty much for email & productivity in mind, as well as a useful amount of screen estate.

I love my passport, but one handed use is tough for sure. While I can reach over to the far side of the keyboard to hit the a q and z, it's still a stretch. No other complaints

I own the galaxy note 4 and an iphone 6 plus the passport. Honestly among the three I adore the passport. It is a real innovation. Fast typing, scrolling is a pleasure, the screen size is equal to the note 4.

There in lies the rub. Most consumers and enterprise users are looking for just one phone. That one phone would likely not be the Passport but rather a 5 inch rectangular VKB model.

You never know though. The Oslo or Dallas could become a status symbol in certain markets. It could sell well in China for example.

That room freed up for something like a fifth row would be excellent vertical screen space: there are 2mm to be gained in every direction, by getting rid of the side bezels, making the display edge-to-edge, if they have a good solution to the glass attachment issue. :9

That maybe true, but a lot of people may have a company issue phone, and a personal one. They might not carry both at all times, but have access to it

I just tried holding it sideways its an option but you loose the virtual parts.

I use and love my ATT PP and its the beast! I use it during the week and then I use my Classic for the weekend when out side in the yard.
I have them both set up identical so it makes it easy to move back and forth.

I just wish my ATT PP you could get a leather case for it, am I asking for toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much?
