Passport enterprise users please read if you have Priv envy...
I moved from my OG PP to an AT&T Priv for a little over a month now and love everything about the Priv including the screen aspect ratio, 4 row pkb, the ample size vkb, and of course apps that are fast and no need for any simulated android. Even the two OEM leather cases that I purchased -the flip case and the pouch are top quality, superb to any case that BlackBerry made for the Passport.
My big "however" is my work enterprise access being thru a separate app called GFE (Good for Enterprise.) GFE once a competitor of BlackBerry is now one in the same company. Unfortunately, on the Priv my work emails can be accessed only thru this program (password each time you open the app) and unlike my Passport, work emails are no longer in the hub. Only if the GFE program was actually "good" then I would be fine with no unified hub but the way GFE presents my Outlook information (emails/contacts/calendar) is simply unacceptable and tantamount to over a decade old user interface design.
For iPhone and Android business users GFE may be just fine as they don't know any better... however, coming from a fully integrated work/personal hub on a BlackBerry Passport, full display of all my Outlook contact fields is something that I have come to expect "as a minimum" on my new Priv, but sadly this is not the case. I have finally decided to throw in the towel and ordered a new Passport SE and look forward to going back to OS10 with state of the art primary services.
My smartphones have always been my workhorse and the quality of my fundamental apps (email/contacts/calendar) is ultimately more important to me than the ability to run popular social media apps. Yes, BlackBerry may eventually improve GFE but for now I don't want to have to put up with an interface which reminds me of my smartphones from over a decade ago. And yes, the Priv is a great device for personal use but it is unacceptable for work enterprise access at this time.
