I have a cassette adapter that I have used with my Q10 for a couple of years with no problem. And the Passport likes it fine, at first. But if a call comes in and I answer, it sounds horrible until I unplug it from the adapter. Then when I try and resume my music, it sounds scratchy and far away. Only a reboot will get it back to normal. I know I'm reaching here and this has not diminished my love of the Passport. I'm just seeing if anyone else has experienced this quirk and knows of a fix?

What about when using headphones? I don't think the phone would know the difference between a cassette adapter and headphones, since they are both just output devices.

    People still have cassette players?

Sorry, should've been clearer. I was talking about using it in my car

Same question. Does the scratchy sound persist when using headphones?
