Can someone explain the logic behind buying a phone off contract? I understand the part where your are not tied to one carrier, but normally don't people stay with their carrier, at least for two years? Furthermore,
I always thought that by having a contract you can negotiate a better plan? Please explain.

One reason, need an unlocked phone if you travel internationally.

Mine shipped. I received the email at 12:20 AM on 9/25. I ordered it on 9/24 at 10:45 AM EST. It will arrive later today at 10:30 AM by Fedex in NYC to be used on TMO

Mine is still showing "Boxed Shipment" and the people at Digital River have no clue when it will get shipped. Priority Overnight Delivery apparently means Overnight from the time it is dispatched from the warehouse and not form when you place the order, that's a new term invented by Blackberry/Digital River.

Imagine having to pay for expedited delivery and yet not know when it will be delivered!!!!!

Ordered mine real early this morning. Status says "boxed shipment". Out of curiosity, a few hours later I tried to add one to my cart and it says "out of stock, can't be added". I'm hoping I got my order through in time to secure one, as I did get an order confirmation. Hopefully get shipping confirmation some time today.

Anyone know if "boxed shipment" means it's in stock and read to ship, or maybe they didn't update it?

That's cutting it close for overnight delivery in a regular situation (usually 3pm is the cutoff, depending on packaging location), and these circumstances were probably above what was anticipated. I'm extremely impressed that these phones actually got shipped yesterday at all. If you ordered it before it went to backorder, then I'd bet you get it Friday. Not bad.
