Just curious, has anyone who ordered on shopblackberry.com received a tracking number? My order, since I placed it this morning, says box shipment, or something like that. I paid for the priority overnight so I would love to see it tomorrow but I would be frustrated if it takes two weeks just cuz I need my crack...berry.

Can someone explain the logic behind buying a phone off contract? I understand the part where your are not tied to one carrier, but normally don't people stay with their carrier, at least for two years? Furthermore,
I always thought that by having a contract you can negotiate a better plan? Please explain.

In Canada.. to get passport at 300 with Bell I have to pay 75$+ for a unlimited local calls.. texts and 500mb or 1gb...

If I buy it full price I can pay something like 35-40$ for that same thing

35$x24months = 800$++++

Add to that the first 300$ and you have your answer

Can't speak for international but with AT&T if I buy my own phone and use it on my plan I save 25 per month per line. So you may get the phone cheaper up front but they tack it on to the service which most of the time over two years you pay more than retail for the.phone

I am with T-Mobile and they won't be selling it so the only option that I have its to order it unlocked with no contract.

In US I am on the AT&T next plan where 4 lines are 160... Normally it's 60-100 per line on a subsidized phone plan. essentially I am saving about 500-800 every two years, so buying off contract makes sense for me and is cheaper than the subsidized 250 for the phone with a two year commitment.

I ordered on shopblackberry shortly after they became available and got the confirmation email. Like everyone else, I checked and saw the "boxed shipment" status. No tracking number or shipping information yet.

So...it's anyone's guess when it'll actually ship.

Ordered mine from ShopBlackBerry about 10:xx EST with next day delivery. If I see that there's a tracking number, I might have to leave early sick. Decided not to get any cases yet until I see how it looks/feels. Hope there's a swivel case for it, as I didn't see any offerings anywhere. Otherwise, might have to see if I can get a blue passport colored cover somehow.

I got my confirmation around 8:50am EST. Just called and the rep had absolutely no idea whats going on with the order nor when it will ship aside from that its "processing" and every now and then they'll say its "completed".

Sounds like this Digital River company is just doing payment processing and website store. Horrible experience when I ordered the Z10 and same thing happening now. Any other entrepreneurs here? PM me and we'll start a competitor.. don't know how they're processing $30b transactions according to wiki with this kind of service

I am leaving for a vacation on Saturday morning. I think it's obvious now that even with priorty overnight I won't get my Passport in time. I need to cancel, as no one will be at my house to receive it. What's the shopblackberry.com number to call (U.S.)? Is it 866-957-0761?
