This phone for me is fantastic for phone calls--the sound quality and 4 mics make it the best mobile I have ever made a call on. Weight and size mean nothing to me--I have a big head--phone appears tiny beside it--ha ha

I don't mind calls on it. I just can't stand having the device in Normal profile and dialing a number. The dialing sound is annoying...

I can understand the sentiment. Before making my mind up whether to by a Passport or a classic the main concern was the size of the phone. I even simulated the feeling by holding a real passport at my ear and it didn't feel very natural in a mirror. Anyway, I finally bought the passport due to its "office-capabilities" and soon I got used to its size. But, again, I can understand if someone cannot. Of course you can use a headset, but it's still a phone and it should be usable in the old fashioned way.

I always use the speaker phone and never hold any cell phone close to the head. Ofcourse unless it is a noisy environment.

It seems he was holding the phone too close to his mouth and ears!
I got no problem at all on calling or whatever on the Passport!

Finished my first phone call on my new Passport.
    Duration 2 Minutes.
Feeling: like holding a brick to the ear
Suggestion: Well seems more like a Computer than a Telefone.
Will I do calls again: probably not

If you feel so, either get a bluetooth or return it back and go back to whatever ecosystem you came from.

I got big hands as well - very big. Don't even get gloves easily...but that's so other story.

The point is that I'd like my smartphabletphone adapt to me and not vice versa.

I am sorry, but I have to say that I am not ashamed of holding my device to my ear if I have to do so.

My 3 year old holds the device in 1 hand.

On the flip side of things, I use an ear piece when making calls as if it was a conference call.

To each their own. I don't mind holding it to my ear at all but when I'm home my preferred mode is speakerphone. The volume is great - I can walk around the room and carry on a conversation no probs - and I find the call quality outstanding. I've heard the Z30 excels in this area as well though I've never used one.

I read somewhere that you have to lift your five to six monthie and hold him or her at an absolutely perfectly aligned angle (and throw "it" away of course). But that is not the point.

Whats that topic about mate? Just delete this admins please. If you created it like. "For me ,passport Is not my phone to make phone calls "and explained the reasons properly considering your body, hand size, ear size, the amount of weight that you expect from the phone it would be okay. But this is nonesense. I am not defending BlackBerry or passport. Who cares ? It is a big company anyways. But yeah. Thats the point.

I figured it would be strange before I got it. I figured I would end up avoiding using it for calls. Maybe the first call I made on it felt a little odd. Big flat wide thing up against my head. In reality that was just me being self conscious about looking like a dork. Quit frankly, once I got over what other people might think of it, which was pretty damned quickly, I never felt it was much different from talking on any other phone. Admittedly, the ear piece is a little high up but, on the other hand, the call quality is probably the best out of any phone I have ever used.

So... as for that thread title... Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
