I don't think there is enough threads about the Camera situation on the passport. This could be a lot more productive if it was all in one place

People should REALLY wake up for life! How can you compare the Passport pictures with the likes of iPhone 6, Samsung Note or Sony Z3!? Even Steve Stevie Wonder can tell that the PP camera sucks compared to pretty much all flagship mobile phones.

Z30 camera software is better than Passport. That's why I'm gone check this weekend for a good phone with camera.. paid a lot for the passport, but there are cheaper phones with better Camera and thinking abot windows phone.

Lol,.. the camera is not that bad guys. Definitely not bad enough to negate all the other positive aspects of the Passport, especially those that have to do with the REAL FUNCTIONS OF A COMMUNICATION DEVICE.

Unless you have some professional background in photography, I would refrain from posting any of your photos as examples. People who have a trained eye are much more discerning than the average person. This is one area where I pay attention to professional reviews and pretty much disregard what the average person thinks.

BS with the trained eye, pro photographer. See phone, see moment, pick up iPhone - nice shot, pick up Android (higher end) - nice shot. Pick up a bb - why is it so blurry?

It's not about being a professional. It's about getting a half way good photo without having to have perfect conditions or it taking 5 minutes waiting for everything to be perfect. The software needs work, it's almost impossible to get a half azzed good shot when everything isn't perfect.

Yes, but it's a phone. That has an image sensor. No pro photographer would waste a second discussing the merits of such a compromising arrangement. I mean, if you're a pro photographer you should be glad that most people are now using their phones as cameras instead of using dedicated hardware,.. because it will likely make you look like a genius when all you did was use a real camera.

today sealed the deal. with the incredible weather we had in toronto I got out and took many many fantastic shots with my new passport..

not once was focus delay an issue...didn't happen! (10.3.1.1154)
tap to focus made interesting shots come easy and the huge screen meant quick review to make sure I got what I was after...

only annoyance was turning off all notifications just to silence that infernal shutter sound.

as smart phones go...this thing leapfrogs everything else.

    lol 10.3.1.1949 fixes all this.

Thr focus is slow it's the only reason I haven't sold my note 3 yet.

Idk if my z10 took better photos but I've come to like lcds over amoleds for color accuracy.

The photos always looked better on the z10 screen in other words.

Beside that no issues with passport, the q10 camera is passable.

Can't wait for the 1949 leak so I can have a full smartphone.

You may not need a camera for core communication, but in business especially sales photos are important.

I have a separate email I like to sell old stuff on. Need a passable camera for that.

    May try the 1154 leak.

I'm not switching phones because the camera software sucks balls, only pointing out the camera software sucks balls. Anyone can take a nice picture of a stationary object. A slightly moving object is a major task for this horse crap software. It's a fact.

Hmm I thought my Passport takes good photos. Aperture is f2.2 which I've tested against an iPhone and it beats it by a lot in low light. Good in bokeh too! I never use the flash by the way.

we concluded in this thread that the passport camera is top-notch.
you must upgrade your o.s. or wait for your carrier to do it.. that solves a slow-to-focus issue. the rest of the complainers on here don't understand photos or smartphones..or cb10. ignore them and move on.
