I love my BlackBerry. But yes. The shot speed is slow. Even after changing settings and modes. The process to take a picture is slow. And a slight twitch while shooting will blur the shot.
How many generations of phones will we have to wait through to get a speedy efficient camera.
Wait wait wait.
There will be an update update update.
Software software wait wait.
Wait. Wait. Wait.
Wait.
What is this 3GB RAM for if my dang stupid IPHONE can blast everything smooth on 1GB.
When shooting video on 10.3 you can shot shots while recording. It is fast. Why not implement this speed into NORMAL camera mode shots..
Even after focus-lock, consecutive shots are so slow. And shots are not captured instantaneously with our pushes.
I think iphone camera mode is still video mode and it just takes SCREENSHOTS while recording...which is its secret to lightning, quick-response camera shooting speed.
BlackBerry love.
Please "update" camera software soon.
We'll "wait".
BlackBerry love.
Hurry.
I'm dying.
Pasaporte Pilipino.
I have a good feeling that the camera issues will be sorted out in 10.3.1.2072

Is there an estimated date for the upgrade?
Was your problem resolved with a new phone?

The worst part about passport is its camera. I am never too sure about the focus it produces in the first go and same time for the colors as well. BlackBerry needs to seriously do something about it. 13mp camera which actually performing worse than my two year old 8mp camera.
Any idea guys - is it the software glitch or the hardware one? Because if it's hardware thingy then someone at blackberry has not done its job rightly.

I bought camera++ yesterday with the release for passport. This enables manual focus control, ISO, EV seletions. These and so great to have for anyone wanting to make the camera do want you want, not what to programmers thought would be best.
Running OS .908, focus hunting in auto mode is tedious, but I usually just tap where I want in fcous, sometime tap and hold to lock focus. This is possible without Camera++
This Passport takes me places!
Are you taking pics of ghosts?
Nah, just pulling your leg.
Getting my passport tomorrow and I'll see whether my ghosts will show.

I find the best way to take nice picture with autofocus on is tap on the screen of the object or face you are taking then take the picture immediately. So far it's been the best solution for me and I've been taking great pictures all the time.
I sent a twitter message to blackberry help and they have no idea that the passport takes forever to focus.

This!! And it will be fixed with os...
If that's the case... they are idiots!
Hope they see this.

Thanks. That seems to help a bit. My biggest beef is how long it took to switch over to video recording. Turning off some of the enhancements seems to have helped a little.

I cancelled all adjustments in the BlackBerry camera app except "display gridlines" (on) and "continuous video focus" (on) at 1080p. Then I took a photo of the door of my room and a zoom shot of the doorlock, whick looks really great, much better than a zooming cut out of the original photo of the door. The lock is about three meters far from my chair. Yet I admit that I had never problems with the focus of my SE camera.
