So, i received my brand new (I think) Passport from Amazon on Friday. I chose it over the At&t version because it was factory unlocked (allowing me to use certain features like Hotspot without carrier restrictions).

I noticed that when I initially booted the phone, it displays the At&t boot image (white background with globe in the middle). This occurs with or without a sim card. Is this a problem? There is no bloatware in the apps, but when I try to turn on mobile hotspot I am directed to activate the feature with my carrier. Is there a problem with my phone? Thanks for your helpful replies.

Giving you a little bump to see if anyone else can answer your question. I believe the 'restrictions' are within your SIM card, not the actual device?
