The passport is now available at Cellc. Not sure of prices but it was available at my local branch. Vodacom are still waiting.

They must have got some stock early, not supposed to arrive until 'early November' and CellC hasn't mentioned it anywhere.

Also a bit unorthodox that it's black and white....makes me think it's like a pre release booklet for the staff only type of thing

Just pre-ordered a BB PP on Game website, R8500-00. Stock expected on 5 November and can be paid for in full and collected in-store. Once-off data (2GB) will be offered with pre-ordered handsets, through Vodacom.
Pre-orders can be made until midnight 31 October 2014.

I walked around Canal Walk Shopping Centre in Century City, with the following results:
Vodacom staff appear too lazy to check for pricing (which I know is available). No stock available.
Cell C don't appear to have stock or pricing and expect as of 1 November 2014, as per the available booklet in store.
One of the MTN stores, had actual stock!!! No pricing though and indicated that when pricing becomes available, it will be on contract and not on cash.
    TelkomMobile...ignorant.
Game, had a dummy phone on display and advised me to check the Game website for pre-order details! Well done!
DionWired, no stock or pricing and advised stores most likely to receive stock after online sales start (14 November 2014).

So i went down to the "Cell C" store (Brick & Mortar) this afternoon at "the Waterfront" and got my hands on the new Passport ah it looks amazing! Have a look at the boy in the picture below, thats what i looked like but with 10x more happiness lol

Its retailing for R9,999.90 or R499 on a Smart Chat 3GB (Contract price varies) Does go as low as R399 P/M (24 Months)

I guess BlackBerry has given "Cell C" early stock of the passport because it featured in their advert. I was able to play around on one. Full functioning looking AMAZING. I could have bought one and taken it home today but still deciding if 10k is worth it or if I should wait a little.

If you're not taking a contract then Dion Wired is taking orders at R8500-00. MTN quoted me cash price R9380-00 for insurance purposes. I wonder what Takealot.com will be selling them at.

Have you kept the MTN SIM or changed to a different network? Are you still using your previous phone mainly, or gone cold turkey lol!

Thanks again for the awesome pic lol!

I only buy on Pre-Paid. Simply because i have Wi-Fi at home and the office. So i just keep R20 bucks for phone calls when I'm outside the office.

I don't have it just yet, and the reason I'm hesitant to buy one at R10,000 is because, when the Q5 came out its was R5,699 at the Vodacom Shop. But about 3 weeks later i purchased it from Hi-Fi Corp for R2,499.

As you have just said Dion - Wired is selling for R8,499 which is already a lot cheaper. So i have a feeling i will be able to snag it around R7,999 in 2 - 3 weeks time. its all about getting the best deal.

Hey thanks maat, purely by chance I asked when they would have and he had 5 in stock!
Yes, I am very concerned that I cannot get a case anywhere. The MTN branch I bought it at was expecting some accessories soon....
I wanted to feel the water first but as fate would have it, my Z10 micro sim would not fit, I was not aware the PP used a nano sim. The next day I went back and as soon as I popped the new sim in the Z10 sim deactivated so since Saturday It's been PP all the way.
It's an awesome phone! Had an issue with keyboard light not coming on but did a soft reboot and have never had that issue since.
What makes me a little nervous is the hardware issues experienced by some PP owners, I really hope BlackBerry sorts them out because this phone has the potential to revive the BlackBerry greatness of the past.

There is also that little voice saying, "wait for the white version, and then make your decision" just don't want to purchase the Black version and then I love the white more :P

Still all so very exciting and really eager to get one but I just have to do things properly and not make hasty decisions.
