Yes, it will. You will need to go through the setup process (ie. Language, BBID) and then you are ready to go.
You'll also need a nano sim card. I got mine for $10 at my local Rogers.
I used Device Switch to transfer my data from my Q10.

I'm looking into the Amazon offer or the trade in an iPhone. The iPhone has a slight Scratch in the bottom right corner not on the screen. I wonder if this will disqualify it from the trade in. I am still on contract and I I could do the trade in its a no brained.
Not sure when I will be able to get a passport but it will happen.
Tried my brothers z30 and it wad a solid phone... Can't wait to get back on BlackBerry.

I got me Passport last week via Amazon.com, shipped into Canada. Was surprised to see a added charge of $70 for customs & taxes added upfront by Amazon. Technically, there should not be a customs charge as it is from a Canadian manufacturer, or at least assembled within North America (Mexico I think).
Might be a way to dispute this if you want the headache.

Your sim card pretty much controls initial setup. All carrier information,bsettings, and prl's will load.

Distribution locale determines the starting point of your shipment and I believe it's shipped from their us distribution.

There is no customs or duty. It to cover taxes based on province shipped to.
No matter what crosses the border from a retailer it's taxed!

Ya, checking the math shows $599 USD purchase price should get $70 in sales tax 12% for provincial plus federal here in BC).
So alls fair in love and taxes. Still cheaper then buying from Amazon. CA or from local stores.

15% here in Quebec. Best place is Alberta, no provincial sales tax, so only 5% GST.

Mine came to $680 initially, and now $42 less. So ended up saving a decent amt over purchasing via Amazon.ca or locally. But got stung when the deep discounts for Black Friday appeared. If I was fanatical I could have returned within the Amazon refund period and re-bought at lower price, but it's too much hassle at this stage of my life!

I just got an email from Amazon saying that they processed a refund for $35.80 USD (towards the import fee deposit). So the total for shipping it to Vancouver was less than what it would have cost to ship to Pt. Roberts (since there is WA state tax).

Could you please clarify the final amount that you ended up paying. I assume that with the import fee CBSA or Canada Post did not tax you again when it crossed the border.

You don't pay import fees if Amazon already charges you the appropriate local sales tax. If the shipping company charges you that fee because sometimes they are dumb, Amazon will credit you back the tax.
The final amount ended up being $532 USD. This was the $499 Black Friday deal. Amazon uses a global shipping company who handles the customs clearance and the step after clearance to my place was done by UPS. No additional charges except for the exchange rate charged on my credit card.

That's awesome. Looks like they only charged you tax of 6.6%. I should have just gotten Amazon to send it to me rather than to family in California: I'd have it sooner and it seems Canadians get charged less tax than California residents!
