like everyone on here, I'm loving my PP.

Question is, what can they do to improve it for v2?

the only thing I can think of is slightly thinner/lighter, and maybe a little faster processor?

other than that, where else could they improve?

(just want to know if I should start saving my pennies now, for an upgrade. )

A lighter version but with bigger battery (more than 4000 mAh) and revolutionary 4 rows LED keyboard (no use of on-screen virtual keyboard anymore, Art Lebedev-like LED keyboard allowing you to switch by a swipe down between keyboards).
That would be THE ultimate physical keyboard (of course with the already implemented touch/trackpad and predictive keyboard ability)

In terms of hardware, the only thing I wish was different was the keyboard.

The missing physical shift and alt keys so that I can type numbers and punctuation was just a bad idea in my opinion. You can still do 3 rows instead of 4 like on the Q10 but get those numbers, shift and alt keys squeezed in there somewhere pls bbry...

And perhaps the glass woven carbon fibre thing for the back such as the Q10 has.

As for software, I'm really just needing full emoji support and in apps like Facebook, for photos show up in the comments

    That's it

Carbon weave back door! Should be much more durable than this rubbery thing. I know it to be a bit controversial, but I really wish an AMOLED screen. Yeah. I like the contrast very much. I compare my Passport with my Z30, and I like the color and contrast on my Z30 much better than on the Passport. It may also give us a better battery life. Of course better specs at processors should be welcomed.

    Much better resolution!

The current PP has 12 pixel per design unit (ppd), future device will have 16ppd.
    Passport: ppd=12, height du=120, width du =120, (12x120=1440; 12x120=1440) this equates to the 1,440 x1,440, 453ppi.
    Passport 2: ppd=16, assuming height du=120, assuming width du=120, (16x120=1920;16x120=1920) this equates to 1,920x1,920, 603ppi.

Would love an optimus keyboard on a phone but they cost like $1500 for a non-number pad desktop version. So 3 times the cost of a passport right now for a different keyboard and you guys would pay that?

Assuming you mean voice notes, the Remember app has that functionality.

You can use BlackBerry Assistant to tie into Remember as well, but I have not tried creating a voice note directly from there.

Art Lebdev's Optimus keyboard is a full keyboard so at least 6/8 times bigger than a Passport keyboard.
It has an aluminum unibody like Apple, that helps to 'legitimate' an ultra premium price of 955$ for the preorder units.
    http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/multime...rice_Hike.html
So I believe a BlackBerry keyboard from R&D department would be way cheaper than that...
At 649 Euro (around 820$) a new Passport with an Art Lebedev like keyboard (without the unibody scam) wouldn't be so difficult to imagine

Aluminium or magnesium unibody, slider full 5 row keyboard(language configurable), minimum 5 inches with similar form factor...standard improvements like processor, pixel density, camera, bigger battery etc..not sure finger print scanner is essential but could be useful if implemented the same way we swipe to wake up from sleep?

Happy with the keyboard as it is. The Classic is there for those who want full row keyboard. Thinner? For me it's fine as is. Screen quality is great IMO as is. Version 2 as a slider yes please!

Brighter, consistent and even backlighting on the keyboard (similar to Bold 9900 or Q10).
    Revisit the space bar.
    Add Alt and Shift buttons.

Even larger battery, preferably a removable ~4000mah, and a better quality backing like CF or Leather. I have heard real CF interferes with NFC so that may not be possible(?). Also, make the top SIM/SD door more robust so it doesn't feel like it will break. Throw in USB 3.0 support for quick charging. Slightly updated CPU and GPU for future 4k performance.

That's it! I would buy the above Passport on day one . Form factor, KB, and screen are both stellar. Already big so I wouldn't want to see it grow in either direction. More resolution won't help much since it is already high PPI and you can't easily distinguish individual pixels so the higher res will do more harm then good - it will lower performance and reduce battery life.

If you mean physical keys that act as small displays enabling changing of layout, then it might be coming in Visa. And if the technology is implemented in Visa then I see it logical to implement it in Passport 2 if it's going to feature a physical keyboard too

I luv my passport but the big glass does scare me. lol. Make the glass shatter proof if possible. Like that glass they use on the iphone 6. Seen an iphone 6 drop test. Phone lands glass first on the ground and no shatter. Daaaaaaaaamn!

I'm not on board with the thinner and lighter trend. I'd rather have a stellar battery life and great functionality, even if that means the next generation needs to be heavier and thicker. In my opinion, if people are struggling with lifting 300 g, they have bigger problems that need to be addressed before they get a new phone!

I'd like to see the sliding or collapsing keyboard design that was patented recently, especially if it has the permanent row made with touch sensitive keys that can change their image. Having only one row with this capability should not add too much to the device price (hopefully).

A passport with a slider (full qwerty Keyboard), The device can be used as a full touch or keyboard, depending on preference. That way everyone is happy Also a better camera, as well as removable battery, not necessarily bigger battery. I'm sure these improvements are doable, and should not add too much to the cost. Maybe they can have Foxconn make it for them, to reduce the cost.

Happy with the Passport but for the next one, better processor and gpu. Keyboard is fine as it is, haven't had any problems adjusting to it. Same with this amoled nonsense, yeh contrast and blacks look better but honestly I prefer lcd over amoled due to the fact that it's near impossible to see the screen in bright daylight.
