Nice Official flip cover from blackberry.com.au store. Sticky adhesive onto back, but nice, no added bulk.

Still no BlackBerry anything on the Optus Website
Posted via CB10
Where did you buy it? I couldn't find it on the official website.
Posted via CB10
Looking for it on the website is fruitless. Pardon the pun. The information you need is in the community forums. Optus aren't selling it online. Foolish decision, but it's theirs none the less.
That is the problem carrier management is non existant BBAU stated that they expect this phone to turn things around for business users. The problem no one knows it exists.
all the best

Word of mouth has seen Optus sell out once and now people are clamoring for the second batch to be released. Imagine what would happen with a modicum of advertising.
Exactly, hence why in my opinion the lack of mass media advertising is a smart thing however it would be nice if all Optus reps themselves were well informed on the device and availability details.

Optus told me on the 30th that they were expecting more stock by the 13th (tomorrow) so cross my fingers I get a phone call.
This whole launch in Australia has been a mess.
Though props to Optus for carrying the phone at least.

Selling out is only relevant when we know how many units have been sold. See the thing is that if I have five apples in my fruit shop actually lets make that bananas and I sell them out I can say I have sold out of bananas right.
Well the same goes for phones you see there may be only 50 phones available in the beginning and we all know there are at least 50 of us who want it so easy to sell out. If they stocked 1000 phones this may not be the case.
Exclusivity comes from high demand and I don't think there has been high demand due to the lack of awareness. Lets put it another way optus staff didn't know about it how would the general population?
Sometime today I'm going to do a blog which I will be tweeting with Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Harvey Norman hashtags which will hopefully cover a vast array of people who didn't know to look.
So sad, I just bumped into this thread that late. :-(
Yeah, I'm a comments section dude.

That fixed it ^
From Optus, 24/10/2014
Local store
? ? ? Passposted via CB Chen ? ? ?
Ordered the hard shell and extra screen protectors from
blackberrystore.com.au
I've dealt with them before, they have a phone number that is actually getting answered. Free shipping from $60 AUD
They said the flip cases are coming next week.
Can't wait that long. Carried the PP "naked" longer than I planned already due to ordering laziness...

Plan to upgrade to 10.3.1 when I can be bothered to find out how to do it on the forums.
Posted via CB10
Upgrading to a leaked OS is easy. Two ways to do it, I'm downloading the files for 10.3.1.1152 as we speak
Any step by step instructions you can point me to Clancy?
Posted via CB10
Instructions are in the Leak thread. Just go to the leak forum or home page and find the link.
Autoloader will give you a factory clean phone at the end of the process.
Non-destructive is an in place update.
I'm waiting on the blitz file.

Blackberry you should be ashamed of yourself your so called launch with Optus is non existant what a disgrace !!!!!!!!

With Telstra and off contract. Using a Q10 yet time for the Passport. A debacle!!
Is BlackBerry to blame or do you blame the carriers? Optus, Vodafone and Telstra usually do stock BlackBerries but only for a very short window will you see them in stores and then it's almost like you have to have a secret password for a salesperson to even acknowledge their existence. In a big country with a tiny population where iPhone and Samsung are king, the carriers would be lucky to give BlackBerry the time of day.
Hi Chaplain - I'm a fellow Bowral resident! Small world indeed. I hear you. It's more frustration rather than blame in that BlackBerry could have targeted the loyal market in Australia. As you hinted a lot of others prefer wall hugging and toys. I really appreciate the BlackBerry quality. iPhones and Androids were not even around when BlackBerry was pioneering new devices.
That aside is there any advice re the Mittagong contact and if you were successful? And also how do you find the Passport if you managed to buy one.
Thanks in advance!
Mike
Anyone bought from Amazon US?
They have stock and thinking about pulling the trigger.
Works out about $100 cheaper than Optus outright depending on shipping, enough to pick up a nice case for it :-)
Q10SQN100-3/10.3.1.938
I went this option, ordered on the 4th and received it on the 10th. $750 odd as I went with express postage. Waiting on a hard shell case and a tempered glass protector and I'm set!
