It's only rumours at the moment allwi..and the rumours are that Telstra are bringing it in...but considering that there were also rumours about them stocking the Passport in December, I'm going to reserve judgement. Still trying to get an answer out of the Optus people.

Now that Telstra released the Classic (finally), any news from Optus? And does anybody knows, if Telstra put (again) a lot of bloatware on the device?

Optus have been very silent on both the Classic and 10.3.1.

Just been on the phone with optus as I suddenly stopped being able to receive and send pics/mms, half an hour later on technical support he said he couldn't help me through the settings as it wasn't an android or iPhone even asking me how I obtained the passport to which he said optus doesn't sell blackberry's so he is not trained to help me through settings. I just hung up. Can someone with a passport on optus please provide me correct mms settings thanks

I think the Optus MMS settings should be the same for both Android and BlackBerry. You just have to go to BlackBerry Hub Settings > Text Messages > Advanced and verify if the APN and MMSC Settings match.

    Try this link http://optusau.wdsglobal.com/mms
It does have Passport in it (I haven't tried it yet as I'm on Telstra)

Wow, you got a bargain! And you get to see it before handing over the cash.

Yeah I did. I made a cash on pick up arrangement. The phone still its OEM stickers, back and front. The main thing was the IMEI # for me as it should match the Optus receipt. All good and am quite pleased with it.

I think it's their issue then. Check if you can put your sim in another phone and can send MMS or not. I just tested mine and works but like I said I'm on Telstra.

Maybe a silly question but have you tried the Optus website? I am with Vodafone and had this problem with my Z10 from memory. Vodafone had all the right settings listed on their website. I am not sure if it matters which device you have either, I think they are just the carrier's settings.

    Thanks for the quick response.

The only reason I wanted to buy locally was to test how bulky the phone becomes otherwise I have to take the route of going online. I'll try to ring the Gladsville store first.

I've heard of another CB member buying from them just recently, got the charging docks for Passport. But it has been about 2 years since I have dealt with them.

    I don't think they're dead. They just don't reply.
They're constantly updating their product catalogue with latest stuff.

It seems they returned from the dead
When I tried to buy the hard shell, the payment failed with an error message that the vendor ID was not valid.

Anyway good luck with your purchases

That would be me! The charging docks arrived two days after I ordered them. No problems. And they work like a charm. I wrote a blog about it somewhere.

Clearly from what I am reading Blackberry AU has again dropped the ball and not developed better carrier relations. There is a huge potential market in AUS, yet unless they market it and tap into the carriers BB will not sell. Imagine having the best product but not telling anyone about welcome the BB AU.
