Yeah I've heard that as well, I was hoping that it wasn't based on the leak haha. What does it mean if it goes through Optus Business? Is there a minimum number you need to purchase? Is all you need an ABN? Will they be selling it unlocked as well as on a plan?

Been told by Telstra person that they have not taken up the passport at this stage, not even for business customers. Here's hoping weight of enquiries forces a change if mine.

Wow. Just spoke to an Optus Business Centre in Blackburn, and not only were they aware the handset existed, they found it in their system! They still cannot take a pre-order, but they will call me on the 20th to arrange the order! If you want one, call

Fantastic! so that is in line with the post on Optus Community of the 20/10/14 date. I just called my local Optus Business and they forwarded me onto the local Optus world - who said they havent heard anything. The guy knew what the Passport was though, and knew that the launch date was a few weeks ago which is good. He's forwarding me onto Optus HQ because apparently they will be able to help me more? Fingers crossed!

Aaaaargh! Was on the phone with one optus sales team guy and he said preorder is available, will be shipped 3-4 days after the 20th, before the call dropped! I redialled and talked to about 6 different people forwarding me onto each other, and everyone of them said they havent heard of it / wont stock it / should stock it as they stock the latest phones such as the iphone 6 and samsung phones (lol). So incompetent!

I have the SQW100-1 and am based in Sydney. Was operating a Z10 and had the Micro Sim cut down to a Nano Sim for the Passport.

The Optus device (supposing they sell it outright) should work on the Telstra network. I have had the odd Telstra rep tell me over the years that there are certain things that they do when they are locking the device down to the network in order to make it work more efficiently with their network, but I'm certain that it was mostly to encourage me to buy from Telstra. That I will never do.

I would also suggest that, for those who have been waiting to hear this and been active in the Optus forum, you make an individual thread telling Optus how good the Passport device is the day after you get it. For those who come across to Optus next week to get your hands on the Passport, why don't you join us. See if we can drown out those 'I pre-ordered my iPhone 6 and can't wait five minutes before being upset about it because I haven't received my e-mail' threads.

Don't be surprised if your local Optus store doesn't have any units on the 'launch day'.

The Q10 wasn't available until 3-4 days after the official Optus launch date due to stock problems @ BlackBerry.
Given the shortage of the Passport, it may be the same story unfortunately.
