Its is Sad. I checked in HYD Too and got the same reaction. Only 2 stores knew about it and its status. Anyhow i waited till 11th Oct to see if i could procure one directly from the store but couldn't, so dropped the idea and ordered it on Amazon.in. Will get it tomorrow.
I did the same. Had it pre-booked but some how has this feeling which i had faced with Nexus 4 so cancelled my pre-order and re-booked it yesterday 11th Oct and Its schedule for delivery on 13th. I do realize how it feels when you are eagerly waiting for something and this is what happens. I hope you get it soon.
If you want a affordable phone, buy the z3. Remember that you pay for what you get. I would want a Aston Martin for ten thousand dollars.

Its about price difference between regions. Its not about actual price.

Bout that. The import duty it high in India. Like our overpriced luxury cars and our overpriced sports bikes, the only way to get cheap high end amenities is to start manufacturing or assembling them in India. Like KTM. Which seems not so viable. So lets just finish off the topic !
That is very sad! Wonder by mobile shops aren't focussing on the Passport in HYD!
Saw blackberry passport just a dummy piece not a demo piece in one of the hyderabad store.the size is so big.Now I am in confused state should I go with it or not.

Hold the real device in your hand... it is slightly wider than the note. A lot of people have become comfortable with the device now

It's the size of a passport. It's better to read and watch movies. It's a cell phone that you can be productive. This is the new kid on the block. Blackberry passport is the first different phone for the longest time. All phone have become boring, they look the same and do the same thing. Not the Blackberry passport.

It's better to read, but not to watch movies. You get a black bar on the top and bottom of the screen, so you're really looking at a smaller picture than a Z10.
I have more friends because I do drugs!!
Any idea how Motorola manages selling the Moto X (2014) in the US for $499 (~INR 30000) and price it in India for INR 32000 (~2k more which can be credited to duties, VAT, etc) whereas BlackBerry decides to put a premium of more than 10k while pricing the product for India?
- A previous launch date Z10 & Q10 owner who wants to buy a Passport but will probably wait after seeing the way Z10 & Q10 prices corrected in 60 days
If you are talking about the original Motorola X, it was considered overpriced for what it brought, and therefore it did not sell that well--certainly not enough for Google to want to hold on to Motorola Mobility, inc. It was often compared to the Nexus 5, which was $300-350.
And re: the Passport, let me TL;DR the thread for you: low/average demand, very low supply. Profit on each handset sold. That's how BB seems to be doing it.
Was talking about the 2014 Moto X actually.
Let me see if I can edit my post from mobile
Thanks
Abhishek, did you receive your package from Amazon. I am curious how soon did you get it as we Indians didn't have the option on the site for delivery speed during pre-booking.

A friend wanted to purchase one in Bombay but looks like it sold out over the weekend. The store has told him they expect additional stock by the end of the week. He's going to place the order on Amazon and cancel it if the store get's it first. Looks like Amazon is still offering the Rs. 5,000 gift card and 5,000 JP Miles!
Ordered on amazon.in with next day delivery guaranteed next day delivery. It's been 3 days and apparently from bangalore to Delhi the package is walking barefoot. So cancelling the order today. Sad state of affairs. Don't know who to blaim. BlackBerry or amazon.

What are the best sources of information on the Passport's sales performance? Any links or insights? Thanks!
Z-30 / STA100-5 / 10.3.0.1418 / T-Mobile USA
Hey. Got mine today. It's delivered home and am stuck in college. It shipped on 12th. I used free delivery option. I stay in Pune. Quick shipping if you ask me.

No we have a proof now that BlackBerry passport indeed sells in India. Perhaps the OP should consider changing the title of this thread ?
For me, may move to passport only after using my Z30 with 10.3.1 career update, and checking out a few hands on reviews of BlackBerry classic.
I'm going off of the multiple sellouts and very conservative demand estimates. For the 'profit on each device sold,' there's a John Chen interview video with a Canadian business news channel (BNN, IIRC.) That same reporter has also been quoted as saying BB's threshold for the year for Passports was 250k.
So in continuation of my previous posts, I got my passport delivered within one day from Amazon.in. And to sum up the device it's AWESOME. The ones who own it will agree and the ones waiting, I hope your wait ends very soon

One Day Delivery! Amazon rocks. My suggestion to all, even I had prebooked and cancelled. Rebooked as a fresh order. Luckily my prebooking was COD so I did not have much trouble.

Congrats to all those who have received their BB Passports.
Samsung launches their Note4 (which is just a glorified version of the earlier Note) at a price tag of Rs 58,300 and the nay sayers of BB Passport pricetag is quiet. Ridiculous!!!
BB Passport is simply proving it's worth every day.
Agreed! Hands down!
