As the title suggests, I'm asking passport owners how much one handed use you can get out of the passport, one handed casual browsing specifically. I ask because I'm considering purchasing the Passport SE edition.

if you are browsing and going through messages in the hub, etc. one hand use is fine. but when you need to type something, i sometimes go one handed but its mainly a two hand device for typing.

As long as it is just browsing or simply navigating around the UI, using the Passport one-handed isn't that much of a problem. However it can be pretty difficult reaching the top left area of the screen. Typing something really requires both hands.

Yeah I do a lot of casual browsing and reading inbox stuff with one hand, but when it comes to typing, it's a little harder. I almost never type with one hand.

Reading is fine but as soon as you need to enter anything, consider it as a 2-handed device only. Even for people with large hands I'm sure it's still difficult for one-handed typing.

Thanks for all the helpful responses. You can type on the Q10 with one hand but I find it awkward and quicker to use both hands. I can imagine the change in form factor won't be so different.

How does it fit in jeans pocket? It's designed to go into a suit pocket IMO.

Fits fine and looks fine in my jeans but I think it looks horrible in my suit pants. If I'm wearing a suit, I keep the device in my jacket.

I can type out quick messages with one hand on my Passport, no problem. It's a bit of a stretch, but you do eventually get used to it!

Same for me. I do have small hands but I have no problems at all using the Passport one-handed except for, as you mentioned, typing (but I don't mind, I'm used to typing with two hands).

I do fine with one hand while browsing the web, but even then after a few minutes my wrist starts getting stiff and I have to switch hands :/
This phone is just so heavy!
Also, I feel like a dummy since I use in my right hand and have been struggling to tap the bottom back arrow on the left of the screen for most of the year that I've had this phone. Then I realized I could just flick the screen right on any part of it and it would do the same thing. All that struggle for nothing T_T

Will echo majority of sentiments above: one handed works for swiping & scrolling. It becomes challenging after that, but judicious (and patient) use of the Assistant and voice-to-text typing options can carry one-handed use further to barely handed at all.

I have huge hands and I agree with most that this is a two hand phone. I bought it knowing that so there is no disappointment. Even some swipe gestures take two hands, it would be nice to have more acceleration with swipe gestures so you didn't have to move the thumb so much to get back a page or to get into the hub.

Using the browser one handed is difficult for a right handed person. The tabs, history, bookmarks are all on the left side controls and you cannot swipe into and out of those controls, you need to use both hands to switch tabs. Using keyboard shortcuts are handy though.

I like the phone a lot, but it is a lot to hang onto.

Yes I do, I couldn't handle a Passport before buying so I was some what nervous about it. But now I can say for reading and browsing, Wow! I have mine in a Ringke case FWIW.

I've used the Passport one-handed from day one. Training and patience that's my tried and true method. It was awkward at first (didn't want to drop it) but now it's second nature. It's all in how you position the phone in your hand. Typing still feels more natural using two hands but I find myself using one hand most of the time.

I browse one handed regularly with the original Passport, and use two hands mostly for typing. I have typed the odd message one-handed when needed, taking advantage of the swipe up word prediction, and I have small hands.
