Checked inventory by ordering 900 on Shop Blackberry and observed a huge increase in inventory! Looks like red is definitely not 'Limited' afterall...
Anyhow, still love the color al least ;)

Thats not a very reliable way to "check inventory".

And why is that? I've been watching it for 2 weeks crawling down by 8-10pcs per week and all of a sudden it jumps to 740...Details? I think you've got nothing...
They may be selling units from other sales channels that no longer need the stock, no one really knows.
Anyways, point is it climbed. I didn't say they are producing more...
if it does have a number on the side its not limited.
So I guess that's it, BlackBerry are liars ^^^^
Ouch. Not so limited after all.

BB never said 'limited' means limited thru ShopBB, just Limited Edition. Probably red isn't sought after as some people think even in the small numbers batch produced.
Limited Edition without a number just means it'll be produced in few quantities than the Regular Edition.
what we understand by limited?
not easy to get? which is very general....
normally it goes by number, the quatity they provide...
the red passport limited edition.....produced in a certain quantity, and will not be available after all sold....
imho, that's the scenario now....

Just put some refurbished returns back online. Nothing special .

I don't know if they can do that if the inventory is listed as new.
We don't know how many red cases were produced. This could just be a replenishment when more red cases became available to the assembly factory.
I'm a fan of black as my username would suggest lol. I'm obtaining the funding as we speak to get the red model for my wife. Now at least I now I won't be having rush as quickly as I thought I would have had too.
joke from an old seinfeld episode "limited edition is limited to the number of people they can sell it to" there really is no limited edition except for the gold only 50 made.
Ditto brother!

It's limited for you and ultra rare for me. We ain't even able to buy the red one in the netherlands lol. Even tho I'm liking my black PP, I would have liked it more (I think) in red.

If that's the case, then all our BlackBerry's are limited edition... (ba da dum)
What if people holding 490 of these devices in their cart?? and it finally cleared and added back into the inventory??
Even the black Passport is hardly available in retail stores in The Netherlands. The salesperson told me I was the first consumer he sold an Passport.

Perhaps the word limited is being misinterpreted, it could simply mean less of the red were made compared to the other ones....
OP: When you checked stock, what item showed up on that page where it said there was only 740? When I try to check, it goes from the red Passport to the P'9983. So maybe the stock check is not accurate:

EDIT: The US shop doesn't have this bug and stays on the red Passport. Perhaps "Limited Edition" just means purchased online unlocked at full unsubsidized price. It would be interesting to know how many have been made and if there's a cut-off.
it could just mean for a limit time frame only
This isn't difficult to understand surely?
Normal phone - Available whenever as is the primary model
Red limited - Available, but less will be made than the normal device due to it being a more divisive colour choice
Numbered limited edition - genuinely limited!
If blackberry had said the red was a numbered limited edition this would be different. But how many of you all own dvds or blu rays that say 'limited' or 'special edition' on them despite them being most likely the only version out there?
