I was on etradesupply looking up replacement parts for the Passport and noticed something about the replacment black rear cover, it notes wireless charging coil.

I figured it was a mistake, and it's just NFC, but there are versions "with" and "without" the "charging coil."

Is this possible? It makes sense to me that the mainboard of the OG has wireless charging contacts of some sort (as I doubt they'd redesign the whole thing for ATT's version, cheaper to just have one board and not add the coils to the OG).

The US version had wireless charging whereas the International version did not have it.

I thought only the ATT version had it.

Isn't there only one OG Passport model? All have the same bands? Hence "Passport" as it works on every GSM network (a la iPhone, which also has cdma).

Wow. The picture is interesting. Doesn't look like an att back at all. Att version only has wireless.

I'd say that's a good way to make a few extra bucks.
As that back door cover won't work with either original nor Att versions to give you wireless charging.
    That's only the NFC sticker.

That's what I had thought too. Unfortunately this does not work as I have just found out.

In my SQW100-1 only an NFC coil is present (2 contact pads). The solder pads
with the missing spring clips on the MB show 0 ohm resistance between them which
indicates a shorting jumper somewhere on the MB. I wired a Qi coil off a spare
back cover for my Priv that I had on hand to the solder pads on the MB of my
Passport. The Passport with the Priv Qi coil did not respond to the Qi charger
and the Qi charger did not see the Passport. There must be some additional Qi
circuitry in the AT&T Passport version. I did not investigate further.
