Is the chin really plastic?? I would be kinda upset I ordered this morning hoping it was metal. I figured the Sim cover would be.
Hi friend, so basically, the benzene and the keyboard frets are from the steel or composite metal or sort of.
The bottom part of the phone, where the speakers are - is made from the plastic, as well as the sim/sd card cover.

Also is the ATT version, as well as the standard version or the Porsche Design (all versions), the 9900 from the past. The reason is that they ought to have it plastic (as well as the white thingy on the iphones, samsung etc) and not the total steel frame, so the RADIO is not affected.

From this picture you can see it clearly:

Official 'I got my BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition' thread-blackberry-passport-silver-design_0.jpg

From the point, where the frame ends, you can see the plastic begins

Official 'I got my BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition' thread-3105585_tinhte.vn_tren_tay_blackberry_passport_silver_edition-6.jpg

The problem is that Blackberry normally uses the black plastic, and then paint the silver color on it, resulting if you use the phone too hard, the plastic may chip and it becomes very very ugly, this happens to most of the Phones, the 9900, the PDs, Classic, Q10, Z10 etc. But if you use the phone gently, then everything is supposed to be OK

Congrats to your new Silver Surfer! Can you take some pictures of the flip case as well? I'm curious how real leather the case is.

    Thanks!

I'm unclear on this. The original Passport has no FM radio, right? Only the Z30, I thought.
The original PP does have FM Radio. Works well too.

Not a big deal just that beveled screens usually catch more dirt. Also some passports were prone to screen lift. Not all though

You think they would catch that before the use it for demo. Us BlackBerry people are analysed about things like that.

With what happened (QC) to my black PP, it was worth to ask the OP before I place my order. Don't you think???

Think the redesigned Silver PP was to address screen lift issues from the torsion on the body of the original ibeam.

Good catch. I think that this device will need a case then given the plastic bottom chipping. I think I remember this on a 9900. The original PP seemed to be a more durable plastic at the bottom.

Does swiping on keys work as well considering the frets are wider?
