This whole flickering thing in the official OS is a shame, no doubts. But sheesh, it happens. Even holy Apple can screw things up. So, let's hope for a hot fix that will be pushed to all of us via BlackBerry directly asap. Let's not bash BBRY when they need our support. Even though I'm outraged and all, I still prefer to be supportive rather than hating.

Common guys, nobody speaks about bugs that every os has,we discuss simple things as entering address book or settings without the need to wait 5 min.or to reboot. It's not something that is normally happen . I paid 600 $ for phone and I must pray every time when I need to change profile or to send text or make a call.its huge disappointment. BlackBerry passport is for serious people and business, believe me the phone calls are important.

First of all. Many have a minor flicker, usually solved by just exiting the app and reopening. This has been my case. 1 flicker in 2 weeks. Secondly, it does not take 5 minutes to reboot the phone. 45 to 50 seconds.

    Fresh autoloader install

    No restore

I was happy with OS 10.3.0.908 but I wanted to help and contribute my experience with the latest update. To my surprise my Passport works great. NO FLICKING problem here. My current official OS version now is 10.3.1.1581/10.3.1.2267. Keep in mind I have never installed a leak on my device. The camera focus is a lot faster then before but I need to play around with it more to confirm.

I am on leaked version of PassportSQW100-1/10.3.1.2267.
However I always did a restore from backup. I'm going to try from fresh and see if it is any different. I don't think there's a difference between the OTA and the leaked version.

Don't bother, no combination will fix the flicker, just wait and see what BlackBerry say.

I've already done it. Just waiting for the flicker now. Honestly with so many apps, it was happening quite often. Now going to test it without any bar or android app that comes from manual intervention.

I probably should move this and I will. It's a passport 'feature'
Solution would be to have a picture of a candle as your background and the flicker makes it all good. ;-).

Sorry to hear about the flicker. Bell hasn't pushed the update to my Passport yet and wondering if they suspended it because of this feature? Naw...that's way too optimistic.

I have leaked .2267, and I have occasional flicker. Closing and reopening the app fixes it for the time being, but it eventually reappears. Rebooting/resetting stops it for a while, but it returns. I had other leaked versions of 10.3.1 previously and the flickering was worse on those. It's still unacceptable on an official release version, of course.

I've occasionally had the green screen in the camera app, too, but I don't have the notification volume problem.

Can you confirm you got the low volume notification or not ?

I am on 10.3.1.1565 and have no flickering issues anymore.
I am seeing lot of people claiming to have no more flickering. Somehow feeling 10.3.1.1565 is free from flickering issues.

Def not fixed in that software release, give it time it will reappear!! I have tried every single way possible to try and identify how it happens and how to stop it, but there is no pattern really, you can go hours and sometimes a few days without it happening...

Anyway at least now it has finally been brought to blackberry's attention...

The problem with a poll is that it is intermittent. Someone who votes they have no issues now, may have issues later.

CB was a flickering like a mofo today. Too lazy to reboot. Leaked 2243. Maybe it will burn a hole through the screen.

    Guys,
Do you think the flickering could damage the screen eventually?
I'm no expert there, but maybe someone has an idea?
    Thanks

When I first updated, I was getting the flickering in a bunch of Cascades apps (Settings, Device Monitor, BBM, Calendar) but *not* all of them (Hub, WhatsApp, etc, were perfectly fine)

Then I rebooted, and it went away.

Now I'm having the issue in the lock-screen's clock (bedside mode), and one WebWorks app (Stocks), while all the apps from above aren't flickering.

Anyways, I also sent in logs last night before that reboot.
I also do not run leaks on my main device.

I think part of the problem here is that BlackBerry never intends for these leaks to get out, while you're all so eager to jump on anything that gets posted. So they likely have a policy of "pay no attention to all these leak runners, we expect them to be running buggy builds we didn't intend to release." As such, your CB forum "bug reports" from OS leaks probably aren't being paid attention to.

I think the issue is with display's memory usage. Mine just dropped after the update.
