I hate to agree, but I do.

I was at a Dierks Bentley concert last night. My girlfriend, who has been harassing me about my huge phone asked me to take pictures. She wanted to see how this camera stacked up against hers.

I wouldn't show her any. I tried all the options and they all sucked compared to hers.

It's brutal because I used to razz her about HER huge phone, a note 2. Her phone annihilated the passport on pictures. It's odd because, my Z10 was far superior at a wedding a year ago. So her expectations were pretty high.

    Sadness.

True, hopefully it is just a software issue.

From the limited stuff I've seen it's on a par with the typical phone camera. However, I set the benchmark as my Lumia 1020. Now that *is* a good phone camera, and trust me, once you've had that anything else looks awful.

I'm amazed because along with my Z10 and Lumia 1020 I have a (2 year old) Note 2, and it has a bloody awful camera. Hopeless.

when they are posted on the forums they are downsized enough that the super sampling will generally overcome any obvious problem with low light noise.

take a photo in lowish light (6 EV?) of a resolution target and make the original JPEG available (or sensor raw file of those are available)

You know you could always do what I did and get an entry level DSLR they're only about $250-350 brand new at many places.
I mean the reality is everything we upload to the Internet /cloud gets downsized to a thumbnail.

Video quality is really good for me. Its capturing an image of moving kid and not getting blur and not being able to lock in a photo setting thats annoying for me. Hopefully camera software gets updated in upcoming releases since the hardware itself is pretty good.

The only time I get great pics if when taking pics of things not in motion. When ever I take pics of my kids playing, I always end up having to take multiple shots to get a good one. This never happened on my Z30, so not sure what's going on. I rarely take photo's on this now, compared to my Z30, due to this. When everything is focused and lots of light, it does take great pics, but a lot of times I'm not taking pics in the perfect environment and the pics don't turn out that well for me. Hopefully it's just a software upgrade cause I notice it takes a lot longer to snap a shot that my other BB's.

I take a lot of pictures with my phone, and I'm starting to agree with the OP. The ISO on the camera is no good. Pictures always seem to come out a little blurry. Never had an issue with the Q10

Sounds like the guy or guys working on it need to either put their glasses on or take their reading glasses off when looking at what gets produced from their software.

It's not a good camera, those posting staged stills? Great you can take a staged photo. This is what happens when you try to snap a quick photo.

Look at the berries around the edge of this shot. This is outdoor, non hdr, lots of light. A single shot shouldn't have ghosting like that

Actually I shot several times using both HDR, regular mode, night mode, etc. What you see is the best of them. I notice that regardless of color any time shooting lights - neon signs, pathway lights, digital led, a lamp in a room, the image is ALWAYS washed out.

Edit: outdoor daylight shots on the other hand are quite excellent.

Is it just me or does the camera take forever to load or to change mode?

It literally takes up to 5-8 seconds to change from normal mode to timeshift, etc.

All of my shots seem very blurry if there is any motion at all.

I am running the latest 10.3.0.908 from Rogers.

This definitely is a step back from even my Z10.

Funny thing, my wife wanted pics of the kids today. We both shot different photos, she used her iPhone and I used my passport. Needless to say she posted my pics to Facebook. She was surprised a "Blackberry" could take such nice pictures. Hahaha
