    I just now realized that my keyboard no longer has background lights. So, it's kinda difficult to text in the dark. Does that mean that my Passport is getting old? Or might there be a fix?

    It's been old.

    Try a reboot, or reset. If it's not working after that, then you might need to look into a keyboard replacement / new device.

    I replaced mine, it was quite easy. Bought it on ebay and there are detailed guides on youtube. Of course you need som practical skills.

    Mine does that every few days, but always fixes itself when I restart my phone.
