I always accept that my wife's iPhone has better camera than my berries, only found last night that I have a night scene mode in my Passport camera that takes way better pictures in low light conditions. So much better that my wife didn't even spin on this before conceding defeated .

Just so that all of you who is also unaware of this, the Auto mode would not invoke this night scene mode. You have to manually set it to night scene mode to see the difference... that's what kept me in the dark for more than a month even though I read about the greatness of low light performance in my research period... I thought it was just a marketing spin from BlackBerry.

Yup, found that a while ago.
Principle is simple...don't over expose the image to get the dark scene to be middle grey brightness....which is what all exposure systems attempt to do at normal settings.

    Leave the darks dark!

    This Passport takes me places!
