Not really. You may be able to use an Android app but there's no guarantee it'll work smoothly. But try it and report back.

Tibit: BBRY was one of the early adopters for NFC. USA wasn't ready for it until Apple said they were ready. European countries picked up on it a couple years ago. Even with Chip and PIN/Signature debit and credit cards. The US is just adopting it for better security while Europe has been using the tech for years. US is way behind in regards to payment technology. So I guess its cool to say that BBRY was ACTUALLY ahead of the competition with implementing NFC into their mobile devices.

sim based nfc doesnt need any apps. i set up my sim for nfc payments on an android device (the setup app refuses to install on any device, even on android devices it only installs a few selected ones), then i put the setup sim back in my blackberry and it works nicely ever since

The CIBC Mobile Payments app works on Z10 and Z30. The app has not been released for the Passport. To use the app, you need to have a NFC SIM card from an approved carrier.

All the app does is transfer your credit card information to the POS terminal to complete the card credit authorization for payment. It works the same way as a tap-to-pay credit card. Instead of tapping the credit card, you tap the phone with your payment app running and NFC switched on.
