What device do you have? How did you update? Which OS version (from and to)? What kind of contacts do you have (local, cloud)? Please provide information if you are looking for help.

OK. So no backups and no cloud syncing for contacts. Sorry. They're gone.

Lesson learned the hard way I guess.

BTW, I've never, ever heard an OTA update that nuked contacts but nothing else.

Hey conite, if he has them on his SIM shouldn't he be able to re-import them from there? An OTA update *shouldn't* wipe out SIM contacts AFAIK. That would be brutal if it did.

Agreed. But they would appear in his contact list by default if he still had sim contacts.

I don't know how he did the update but OTA update is not supposed to wipe anything. I just made the OTA update to 10.3.1 in both my Q10 and PP and nothing is missing.

Besides, if it was to wipe anything, there should be a warning message? Are you sure you were not just pressing Yes without actually reading everything?

So the only thing lost is the contacts' number? Have you tried your Sim with another phone?

    Import from sim card.

In the contacts application, swipe down from the top, hit settings in the upper right, ...
Scroll to the bottom and hit import from sim card.

New update wiped out my contacts phone numbers. How do I fix it?-img_20150223_125735.png
