mine is Black and manufactured date 14/11/14 and so far is perfect no problems, passport is Brilliant nice to finally own one.

I always assumed that ordering a device direct from Shop BlackBerry would guarantee a newly made unit. I guess not :/

It's been this way since the Z30 - people reporting their units seemed liked they've been used, seals were "re-sealed", units being shipped from the returns address while others being shipped from the normal one, etc it's a complete joke.

You'll never know what you're getting until you actually get it - and the frequency of defective units is appalling for the price and brand they supposedly are.

Yes, it seems a batch of OG Blackberries were still coming off the conveyer belt as late as the end of 3rd quarter 2015. I wonder if there are any later batches

Lots of companies still seem to be stocking passports that were boxed in late 2014. For recent/future purchasers of the passport, won't this have implications for battery life/condition? The battery will have been sitting in the device for over a year in some cases!
