Just curious, for recent purchasers of the original Passport what was the date of manufacture? You can find the date on the box.

Ya it's on the sticker on the side of the box. Where the barcodes are and the serial/imei info is.
I'm not sure of the date format but it's a 6 digit number I believe. Look for the number that has a 14 or 15 in it. That will be it.

It's actually in a ddmmyy format. Right below the PRD # and above the model # on the side of box.

Yours is a week newer off the line than mine and I got mine in April.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that I got a device that was manufactured 10 months ago. And the box didn't look like it had been opened or anything, the phone is in mint condition. Guess the white Passport isn't very popular.

My white Passport was manufactured around the same time, probably the same batch/date too.
Bought mine a couple months ago from shopblackberry.

Bought my original red Passport on July 1, 2015 & manufacture date was June 8, 2015.

Bought my second red Passport during the last batch of them available on the BlackBerry site around Halloween & the manufacture date was June 22,2015.

Wonder what or if original passports are being made still, lol.

I wonder which color of the OG has the most recent manufacture date. Anyone with a white one that has a batch date after January?

That's interesting, you'd think that you would get a phone made a bit more recent than ten months ago when ordering off Shop BlackBerry. Oh well, I suppose some models are more popular than others then. I wonder where the phones just sit then. They must just stay in some storage container until they are needed.

That's surprising to see such an early manufacture date on a phone purchased recently.

Just my imagination working here, but it might be that BlackBerry collected unsold phones collecting dust for ages in inventory from some retailers and started selling them.
That's all I can imagine since most who purchased them second half of this year have said they were manufactured this year.

Yeah I was surprised too when I looked at the date. I just assumed it would have been a newer model. But you may be right. Their sale was possibly a way to get rid of the older phones that didn't sell elsewhere. But I'm happy with it just the same!

Order a second black on December 3rd. First black was order 1.5 weeks earlier but had a defective keyboard and was opened prior. That first had a date of Dec 22 2014. So when the second arrived and I saw basically the same date Dec 24 2014 - and a resealed box I feared the worst. But it turns out the device is perfect and the keyboard is much softer and quieter (and not about to fall off) like the first one. So that odd. Would have loved a newer date. Something about getting a phone that a full year old is weird to me.

I always assumed that ordering a device direct from Shop BlackBerry would guarantee a newly made unit. I guess not :/
