What does it say when you try to install apps?
WhatsApp doesn't fully work. It's no longer supported. You can try here, but again, it's not fully supported and could stop working at any point. - https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb...463-a-1137473/
For Telegram, you'll need to install the Android version.

I'm using this version of an android Telegram on my Passport and it works fine, easy on the battery and removes Google Play Services for the location services, HockeySDK for
self-updates and push notifications through Google Cloud Messaging.

As other posters have said, the android app works fine.
can you elaborate on this, please?
native is working fine
BlackBerry Passport RED Edition 10.3.3.2049
Just read the description on the F-Droid Web page that I provided. The download can be done right from your BB10 device and installed. Location Services does not require Google, it uses Openstreet. For this reason and a couple of others, I believe this version of Telegram is the easiest on battery life as far as android apps go.

If the phone tells you that you're not allowed to install Android apps, then you just have to enable this feature in the settings menu. Android apps from 3rd party stores / pure apks are blocked by default due to security reasons.
So double check to install the source of an apk before installing it.
So if that's your problem, then do the following:
1. Tap image Settings > App Manager > Installing Apps.
2. To allow the installation of Android apps from sources other than the Amazon Appstore, turn on the Allow Apps from Other Sources to be Installed switch.
Go to "system settings" then "app manager" , then go to"installing apps" then enable "allow apps to be installed.."
