So when the video first, starts playing it renders perfectly. However, within seconds it zooms in and cuts out the sides of the video. I've tried to zoom out but that doesn't seem to have helped at all. This is the netflix apk downloaded using snap. Anyone experience the same problem or have a fix?

You should have aspect ratio settings in the Netflix app. Also keep in mind if you're watching an older show that wasn't shot in HD, the aspect ratio can be off and Netflix will do nothing to really adjust for it.

No, it's doesn't exist. The new versions of Netflix are not compatible with the Passport any more. Amazon version is still compatible but it's no longer visible at all for the BlackBerry Passport.

I don't watch movies often on my phone, but I too am interested if there is a solution.

There are no settings that I can find and no way to prevent the zoom in.

Tried the swipe down zoom out/in function doesn't work anyone have a link to the passport compatible netflix apk...I did just upgrade the netflix app so I'm assuming that's what messed it up.

Netflix 3.8.1 in app zoom does nothing for video. Using the runtime zoom does not fix the video either. You best bet is sticking with 3.8.0 apk for now.

LOL reinstalled my 3.8.0 apk and now it has the same issues. So don't update your Netflix if it is still working. Just saying, you may have better luck.

It's cause when you uninstall an Android app it does a poor job of cleaning up after itself, you likely still have all the settings from the updated version still on your device. tl;dr: Anyone who wants it to stay working, don't update lol.

    That's what I thought.
Installed Netflix 3.7.2 and everything is good to go. Even tried updating to 3.8.0 but run into the same zoom problem. So for now it's 3.7.2 for me.

No none of that. Anyone have the apk link to 3.7.2?

Installed the Netflix app provided by the mega link. It scales the video within the screen. Needless to say, there are a lot of empty spaces.

I've come to the conclusion Netflix just isn't pp friendly. If i feel the need for Netflix on a phone it will be on the Z30 either streaming to tv with micro hdmi or miracast. I don't know how you guys/girls can watch a movie on your phone screens......

The black bars are better than having the picture cut off. The old version of Netflix still works fine (after deleting the update and sideloading the old apk). I never watch Netflix on my phone but if anyone wants to have a pissing match, I want to make sure I've got enough water in me. Same debate as when DVD's first came to market but I don't see any other side to the story: keeping the original aspect ratio and the highest resolution possible is far more important than 'filling the screen'. The fact that Netflix was only recently caught adjusting the format of some of their content without the disclaimer that it had been modified is a whole other story...
