Do I have to bring my passport in to the TMO store to get my nano sim card for it, or can I pick up the nano sim card before my passport arrives and insert it myself when it comes in? Sorry, Im not so sim/tech savvy..

Either way will work. Going to the store and getting it done there will be convenient, ordering the nano SIM online and DIY will be cheaper. You will most likely be charger $20 for the SIM in store, while you can buy the SIM card for $1 online right now: Prepaid Cell Phones | No Contract Cell Phone Plans | T-Mobile . Then, you go to t-mobile.com/SIM and follow the steps there to activate the SIM card.
You can buy a nano sim adapter, go to the TMobile store and tell them you want to buy a nano sim. When the nano sim is programmed to your phone number insert the nano sim into the adapter. That way you can still use your current phone until your passport arrives.

I got one for free. Just call customer service and ask nicely. They'll pay the shipping too.
My TMOBILE store put my sim in a cutting press and cut the micro sim to nano sim size. They then gave me an adapter that could make it micro sim size and they did this at no charge.

I cut mine using sharp scissors and a template I printed from online. Easy to find and easy to do.
Thanks again everyone - I walked in, impressed the ignorant tmo workers with the beast, and they were happy to just whip out the nano sim and activate it at no charge.
