    N4BB says that it will have a 4.2" screen 1440x1440 with 480ppi

Crackberry says that it will have a 4.5" screen 1440x1440. Which would translate into 450ppi.

Who is the right one? I hope BlackBerry didn't decide to make the screen smaller. That would mean it would only be about a 1" bigger than the Q10 diagonally. If you listen to CrackBerry it would be 1.4" bigger than the Q which I would prefer

What do you guys think. Which one is right?

I think 480 ppi works out to a 3" X 3" screen with a 4.244" diagonal. A 4.5" diagonal would be a 3.18" X 3.18"screen so not that much of a difference. It still was beaten with the fugly stick!

It's not a lot by width but that diagonal measurement, it's huge for a phone. Maybe I'm just nit picking but I wish it still had the original 5" screen. I want a keyboard phablet so bad

Somebody this reminds me of the square tablet which has been rumoured and apple...... allegedly Steve told one of his engineers to make the iPad phone size and they will start with that first..... seems like Chen has done the same.....

I sure hope it is 4.2 because I feel like the phone is already wide enough as it is. Hope it can fit in my hands. On a side note, after all the hype around this device, its sure looks boring if the leaked pics are final. If the only change is a steel back, the phone would still be very ugly. I prefer the look of the Dev Alpha C lol. Hope it is not final

Also, when you fire up the 10.3 beta simulator, you’ll notice another square screen. This is for a new device with a 14401440 resolution and pixel density of 453 DPI.
    from the BlackBerry Dev blog

Using this information some simple math leads us to a 4.5" screen or more accurately a 4.4955" screen as suggested by CrackBerry.

    I believe CrackBerry is correct.

The Developer.BlackBerry.com site tells developers the device will be 45* DPI

    I believe 450-455ppi

Which means 4.5" roughly. NOT 480ppi.

Just going off the BlackBerry developer site.

    http://developer.blackberry.com/desi...een_sizes.html
BlackBerry is designing a smartphone for a future release that features a 453 ppi screen with a 1440 x 1440 pixel resolution. This exciting device is separate from the previously announced BlackBerry Classic smartphone, which includes the classic integrated trackpad, Send/End keys and full-QWERTY keypad.

    As well as here:
    http://developer.blackberry.com/devz...ign_units.html

As far as the screen size :
    1440/453 = 3.1788 (width and height)
    Then to get the diagonal:
    Sqrt(2((1440/453)^(2)))
    = 4.96"

    So 453ppi 4.5" Display

I think that 3 is not a coincidence it has to be 3, the other is too big (slighlty)

The only information I'm going by is what's on BlackBerry's website. Like it or not, the next screen size is 4.5in at 453ppi. Therefore CrackBerry is closer.

Id prefer 4.5 inch for sure.

The larger this device is the more noise people will make.

Let the world know BlackBerry is back and with a device to shock the world.

Hopefully it sells. I for one am already lining up in my head.

    Yep! Quite different,

    DPI is "Dots" Per Inch.

    PPI is "Pixels" Per Inch.
