Is this normal? It's a huge battery and I have no complaints about the amount of time I get out of it (two days easily, often two and a half), but what do other Passport owners experience?

Yes I know what you mean. I too expected it to take longer to charge but as long as it keeps lasting for 36 + hours I think it must be okay.

I have used my old PB chargers every since the PB came out, on my 9900, z10, and now my PP. Takes little to no time to charge(roughly 2 to 3 hours), and have not seen a degradation in battery performance or life.

What charger do you use? Generic, or BlackBerry's?
BlackBerry's OEM charger provides 1300 mah charge, while some generic chargers or usb port provide just 500

the stock charger is 1400mA and the PB one you suggest is 1800mA. Assuming the Passport will draw more than 1400mA (i think it does also) I don't see it doubling the speed from his 4 hours, to your 2 hours to charge.

Either the 4 hour guy has horrible service and high data use, or something else is going on. That's a big difference.

that being said, I have a 2100mA car charger made for iPads, and my passport charges faster with that than any other bricks. Also pay attention to the USB cable, a cheap one WILL slow you down a lot, trust me.

Good point about the usb cable!

My Passport charges between 2-3h with the standard cable and charger.

yeah, it's kinda slow to charge, but i'm using the PB rapid charger, not bad though, 25% to full in about 2-2.5 hours compared to 3+ hours with the standard charger..

i wish the latest 10.3.1 OS will unleash the snapdragon's Quick Charge that will charge this beast faster!! a good battery life is a plus, but a good battery life + a quick charging time is a MUST!

Is there something wrong with my charger? It takes forever to charge. And unlike what you guys have been saying about your charger, my Passport charger is only 5V-750 mA while my Q10 is even better at 850 mA? Did I get a bad charger or what? and I'm in the UK, maybe there's a law in EU that prohibit things like that *wth*

Yes. Fast chargers equals more heat and heat is a major factor in longevity while charging.

It's suggested if you're charging over night to use a trickle charger. The slower the better as it will produce much less heat.

That being said if you're in a rush then use a fast charger. I have one in my car just in case.
