For folks that actually work with documents a lot I think square is logical. For video watchers and game players maybe not so much.10-13-14 03:36 PMLike 0 - The thing is, the assistance of the virtual keyboard work so well that my typing on Z30 or Z10 was almost typo free. That's why I really think I can type faster on my Z30. I'm using the assistance to the maximum level though. Sometimes just writing 2-3 letters from a word and I press space on my Z30, the word that I intended to type appears instantly. So it's very fast on the touch. It's different with this keyboard. The correction is much much less aggressive. But with it we can type more accurately, without using much assistance from the keyboard.10-13-14 03:52 PMLike 0

But when it comes to typing long emails, I personally have a much better time with hardware keys. Usually with virtual keyboards I avoid typing them out if possible. The issue is when i try to type really fast I tend to slightly miss the spacebar or hit a symbol on a virtual keyboard accidentally and it screws up a couple of words.10-13-14 04:29 PMLike 0 - What's so brilliant about the review people ? It's not a review even -it's too narrow and short for a review. It's more like some guy's opinion...to me it's not an opinion even since it's basically pointing out what's already been said and what is obvious! Passport is not a device for everyone, it's odd shaped and it's not like any other device.....well you don't say, Sir. With all due respect I see Samsung and iPhone all around in the Subway...now and then some HTC and Sony -so who cares who is what user....touch screen or qwerty user -the point is to have something to chose from and not just all the same phones. And with that RIM got it right so the Passport is a success for sure if you ask me <310-13-14 11:16 PMLike 0
- I went from UT Starcom to HTC/WinMo to iPhone4 to BlackBerry 9900 to Z10 to this. The 9900 was the best of all.. but I really love the Passport. Learning curve takes some time, but I am efficient and productive, where I need to be. The apps I need I have. The extras I get from Snap.
I miss the ease of BlackBerry Traffic and Maps doesn't quite cut it. I miss the keyboard shortcuts from my 9900, but it's not too bad...software updates will fix that I'm guessing.
Overall, I love the Passport, just need a BlackBerry OEM holster.

However I have to delete, go back and correct much less with the Passport,.. so in the end it ends up being about as fast. (keep in mind that I'm the type of person that re-reads his posts on CrackBerry, and goes back to edit the typos.... so if you don't care about typos,.. then you may see less value in this)
Now, if I was someone that used a wide variety of specialized words (medical drug names, custom part names, etc),.. I can see the Passport easily out shining the Z30.
I don't really get to show off my device that much, so the fact that it's different just for being different means little to me. I like the screen, and keyboard scrolling, the improved battery life and most of all the seemingly much improved reception.

However, if you edit documents and listen to the news at the same time, as I do very often when I don't have to think much, the battery life is about the same as Z30, but reception is much better and processor speed makes a big difference. I could not type documents and emails while watching the Agenda on TVO, the National on CBC or BBC World News at the same time on the Z30 as I do on the Passport.
It's like my Linux laptop! Email in the hub is so much better in 10.2.3 allowing you to save and create new folders and navigate your directories as in linux or Unix, without requiring a separate file manager app to organize your files and folders.

Not in any way that the case reduce the aesthetic of the device. I'm usually against using a case, but in this one, I really recommend it. I expected some more good job on BlackBerry leather pouch for passport too! I hope they make one of it.10-14-14 11:18 AMLike 0

I would still manage a leather pouch for when I go out but I like using my blackberry without any type of case or protectors.
To me, it's more beautiful that way.fanisk likes this.10-14-14 11:30 AMLike 1 - That what I've always thought too. But this case is so good. Really. The feel, doesn't add observable bulk. I want to use a leather pouch too when possible. But still. This is not bad at all. I have to say that I'm very impressed.10-14-14 12:14 PMLike 0
- I agree Passport is not for everyone, it is for those who loves Keyboard, who loves the square big screen n for those who loves the name BlackBerry!
Posted via CB1010-14-14 01:10 PMLike 0 - Oh I think it is, best phone in the world. And that's a fact jack
Official pain in the **** of the peevishlicious crew.10-14-14 03:34 PMLike 0 - The Passport is BlackBerry saying "we can't be everything to everyone, and we're cool with that". No phone is perfect, and fits every user's needs perfectly. Even the iPhone, as well-rounded as it is, aims at the centre of the market, but in doing so Apple has chosen to leave out the low-end and certain types of power users. The Passport is focused on a group of users further away from the mean, and this may exclude certain users, but BlackBerry is not going to lose sleep over that.

? BlackBerry Z30 ? If it Don't Make Dollars, It don't Make Sense ?10-14-14 07:15 PMLike 0 - Beauty, the passport is, but beyond that... BlackBerry was built for functionality, purpose and efficiency! Beauty, "it's just so wow", "like never before", and all that other buzz-marketing-words of nonsense repeated year after year product after product, the whole bull about design meets blab blah = that is the language and purpose of Apple! And their slowly loosing that one upper hand they've traditionally had.
? BlackBerry Z30 ? If it Don't Make Dollars, It don't Make Sense ?
Thanks.
