I can't use my passport in the dark to type. Is this just my phone? Is there an option to turn the keyboard light on when typing in the dark?

My Z30 is hired, my iPhone retired. BlackBerry rules the lot. Cause it's the best phone I've ever got.

Kevin had the same problem. A reboot fixed it said it never happened again. Probably a software glitch likely patched on the first update.

Same thing happened to me. Rebooted and didn't help. I ran the BBVE app and both the proximity and light sensors weren't working. Rebooted and all is good since.

I really hope this bug gets fixed!

It burns my eyes using the Passport in the dark. The screen backlight is turned up and the keyboard doesn't light up.

This is such a huge bug...

I'm not sure why others aren't getting this?

It's so annoying typing in the dark. Not only can I not see the keyboard, the screen brightness is turned up so bloody high it hurts my eyes.

The 10.3.0.1418 was brought out to patch issue where device stops responding to the sensors. Until that version is avail to you, a reboot will correct it when it happens.

Yes. Rebooting does helps. But then mine will have the same problem again. I thought it'd be better with the OS upgrade, but everything is still the same

me too, rebooting is only a temporary fix and I've got all the latest updates well beyond the so called fix version. It's a big shame and deeply disappointing. I'm worried by the fact that something as major as this has been ignored, either it can't be sorted or tech support is poor. I'm thinking of taking mine back!

I noticed for the first time this morning that my keyboard didn't light up. A reboot solved it. I hope the update to fix the problems in 10.3.1 will include this glitch. I also have occasional screen flicker/blanking which is really aggravating when it happens.

Little computers with complex operating systems are as glitch as anything else...but since it's the computer I use most, it's annoying.

I haven't updated to 10.3.1 yet but I had this weird "backlight is brighter than it should be and keyboard won't light up" issue the other day. I just re-booted it and everything has been fine since. Knock on wood.

    Same issue here.

*100% screen brightness and no keyboard backlight in the dark.
    *Proximity sensor not working.
*Very slow screen unlock (5+ seconds) sometimes.

These problems are most of the time temporarily solved by a reboot but after an hour my passport starts acting up again.

I'm on 10.3.1.2582 and after searching found that people have been complaining about these issues for half a year already...

I absolutely love the passport (got it last week) but because of these problems I've switched back to my q10 and am thinking about taking back my passport and asking for a refund.

I experience exactly the same issues from time to time. Extremely disconcerting but, so far, a reboot has always fixed the problem. My worry is what if one day the reboot doesn't fix the problem...
