Wow that's totally retro.

It's a feature. My z30 does it too. Reach in your pocket and touch the screen and it silences the ringer. Still available to answer the call once you get it out of your pocket.

I agree. I love just being able to touch the scree to silence the phone. So much easier than having to hit a tiny button on the screen. Too bad BlackBerry have decided to remove that as a feature in 10.3.1

Combine it with the light sensor and proximity sensor... doesn't silence if tapped in the dark when in close proximity to something... conditions that would be true in a pocket.

I don't like it. I personally prefer to use a button . No other phone have this behavior .
Did they remove touch to silence ringtone in 10.3.1 or not. Nobody is confirming. Please tell whether they removed that annoying feature in 10.3.1. Would be happy to buy a blackberry classic if this touch to silence thing is not there in 10.3.1. That is so damn annoying.
No, they didn't remove it. It will not be removed. It's a feature, not a bug and most people like it.
Simply learn to live with it, or buy something else.

Pasaporte Pilipino.
Not agree with u. U said it's a feature, but why then there is a silence button in the screen when calling...

Exactly, Thank god finally somebody got my question. Some people say that blackberry removed that annoying touch anywhere to silence in 10.3.1.821 leaked version . Some say that it didn't . Whom should i Believe . Please somebody tell me the real truth whether they removed it or not . Want to buy the Blackberry classic so bad .. If this so called "feature" has been eliminated would gladly get a new classic.
Feature or bug, that's irrelevant imho.
Anything that makes users overhear phone calls is completely unacceptable.
In the end of the day, it still is a phone. This needs to get changed / fixed asap.

I agree.

OMG .. You all are eating me. This is the last time I am telling you guys. This is for people who Installed the leaked version of OS 10.3.1.821. Please for heaven's sake check if it silencing the call after having 10.3.1.821 on board. I heard they fixed it in 10.3.1.821. I am not encouraging anybody to install I am asking those who already installed it. Install at your own risk.
I don't know about .821, but Simon says that they fixed this bug on .800.

I'm highly interested in learning if this got fixed in 10.3.1 or not, as I'm missing calls daily, due to this problem.
P.s. I love the feature of tapping the screen to silence a call, but if this comes with the risk of missing calls, it is just unacceptable.
This feature should be implemented as an option, to allow for turning it off, or better, get coupled with the light sensor, so it wouldn't fire if in the dark (of a pocket etc)

Just use Hub ++... configure your incoming calls voice ringtone, when it rings, nothing will stop it from ringing even you are touching the screen! It will only stop when you answer the call or reject the call.

I downloaded the new update from AT&T 10.3.1 yesterday and this has been fixed. Use to I could touch my keyboard and it would go silent. Now you have to hit the silent button.
