This is an extremely important app to have esp if you have big cheeks. Ha ha ha. I can see people stop using this phone without it.

Get the app pocket safe. A must with this phone and big cheeks. Stops the pocket dial and accidental phone call problems. Look in BlackBerry world

    Ok...Thanks

Worthy of a spotlight rehash article but the CB team is not doing that so I thought I would post this. Very important!
Causes no problems or issues and then solves many.

I got this app the day after I got my passport as the passport is a right royal pain for buttdialling!

It does a great job, like you say a must have for Passport owners.

How do you manage this conclusion?

Pocket safe and other apps by the developer are among the highest quality available on the platform and used by thousands, at a minimum (I've no idea how many active installs there are, only speculating). How do you attribute it to selectively destroying hardware on your device?

I say selective since this seems to be a unique accusation.

    Hi Diogo,

Proximity sensor, like other sensors on your phone (GPS, ambient light, gyroscope, etc), are all read-only sensors, meaning any app can read their values but no apps can try to modify the sensor or inject anything to it.

Like any hardware, sensors can stop working. This also happens with hard drive, SD card, screen (dead pixels), hardware buttons, USB/earphone jack, etc.

If your earphone jack would break, would you blame the music app you use?

If your device is still under warranty, I highly suggest you contact your vendor for a repair/replacement. Also, make sure to run BlackBerry Virtual Expert app and test your proximity sensor with it, you can find it in BlackBerry World here :
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/27226887

If you're out of warranty, I suggest you reinstall your OS, as some problems looks like they are hardware issues but are indeed software/OS issues that can be solved with a fresh OS install.

    Thanks!
