I have my passport all set up, and popped in my 64 gig SD card and playback is interrupted every 10 seconds very briefly: it isn't the audio dropping out: it is like tapping pause then play every few seconds.

is anyone else experiencing this? is it the card being indexed or the music playback process not having high enough priority?

it's unacceptable and never happened on my Z30. I hope it's temporary, fixable or at least "just me".

No issues with mine. Sounds awesome and played my music for a few hours with no problems at all.

I also tried copying files to the internal memory and still had the problem. When I inserted the SD card there as a "installing driver" prompt on the screen (!) which I thought was really weird: Maybe I need to reformat my SD card, or switch FAT32 and exFAT or whatever?... but the SD card format doesn't explain why the music playback from internal memory is also glitchy... hmmm.

I have a fat 32 formatted 128gb card in mine and it has worked flawlessly. I wonder if you are using a slightly different codec that is causing issues? What format are the files compressed into and are they constant or variable bitrate?

I have now tried iTunes files downloaded directly from Apple, MP3s ripped with various rippers... I am using a different SD card (a 4 gig I have spare) I have actually switched back to my Z30 until I can get this resolved... for this and other reasons that I'll mention elsewhere.

My 64 gig micro SD is working flawlessly. I suggest you let your blackberry format the SD as opposed to doing it by desktop, if you haven't already.

I had a problem with my SD card indexing and had to format it with the Passport to make it work properly.

Does this only happen when you have a headphone plugged in?

Try removing the headphone and just play from the speaker.

Hard to say what could be happening. I too have been using a 64 GB card, exFAT formatted, no speed issues. Mine is Class 6 I think.

I had some drops on the beginning where I copied around 20 gig of music, but it settled. I assume that system was indexing. I have 64 gig samsung card formatted in my mac to exfat.

now that i've had my passport for a while the music playback is much smoother and the device doesn't seem to get as hot. so I guess "let it settle" is mysterious but good advice.

When using neutron there can be a pause after 10 to 20 seconds of playback. Investigating it would seem to happen when the app completes scanning media and updates it's library. Probably only happens for those of us with 2000+ mp3s. Did not notice a repeat though?
