Without BBOS, Crackberry wouldn't exist today. Even though BBOS failed, I have so much respect for BlackBerry and their developers who built BBOS.
OP I know your pain. While I really like my K1 and Android overall for the selection of apps, it does suck having to rely on third party apps for basic functions that could have been added in the OS.
Me... not so much. I really liked Palms features better than what BBOS offered.
It was BIS that built BlackBerry and CrackBerry, only reason my company back then switched to BlackBerry was the battery life was way better and emails were instant. But that was more than enough to make the devices stand out and the rest was history.
Actually, you can disabled all google functions on google account settings.
I have done that. Right now Google does not track or save my locations. I have not got a YouTube account etc. I don't use Gmail account.
On the Keyone you can disabled Google photos app that's all.
The device is a nice device. I agree with you there will not be BB10 again. I am a BB use since BB Bold 9900.

I heard many good things about palms features but I never experienced them. I wish I had one but I probably couldn't afford it lol.
Shocking......I tell you Shocking !
BB was unable to catch up with the time in last decade. Management was too contented with her own innovation on product design on conventional keypad, preferred by politicians and business world, too much of publicity and advertisement, but without value added improvements as compared with other brand makers.
Nokia is far sighted and I believe that all her past glory will come once again into reality definitely in 2018 which will become apple 's main competitor in the west. Read its website and u will be amazed of its creations and innovation on designs and quality made. China has begun to see the threat from nokia and we will see why China smartphone makers are now setting their sales and supply strategies to offset threat by rising Nokia this year.
Question now is what is the BB"s strategic direction now, to be prepared to compete and to maintain her market share?

BlackBerry exited hardware business years ago, they are not trying to compete in the smartphones market.

Yeah, don't dare have an opinion and post about how you enjoy BB10 on a BB10 forum.
It's odd how people act like going with android somehow saved BlackBerry phones. It didn't, it put the final nail in the coffin.
I don't care if BlackBerry goes bankrupt or not at this point, because they are not producing phones anymore, nor any software that matters to me as a consumer.
So, if someone enjoys an android phone with a blackberry, great. I'm very happy for you. Stop trolling people who aren't.

Yeah and some people don't like lacking basic functionality in their OS, but hey, to each their own.

Also, how many of the brilliant prognosticators out there bought any BB10 phones? Why?
I won't argue that Blackberry hadn't screwed things up very badly by release of BB10 on the business front, but I bought and used the Z10 and then the Passport SE and still do.
BB10 worked and it still does. It lacked apps and the company was run by people who failed at business.
I rarely bother talking about how BB10 has no future. That's abundantly clear now. But when a bunch of Android fans smugly pronounce how it was so clear BB10 was, just ask how many dollars they spent on that 'failure' that was so apparent.
If they didn't then I guess they are free to keep RESPONDING in the millionth thread about BB10 being dead. To whine about the thread and then feed it is nonsense.

How many hours did Crackberry editors and contributors spend pimping this obviously failed-before-it-launched BB10?
If this was so obvious, then were they just pure shills? Lying to would be customers?
I sure would have hoped that the Android fans now trolling BB10 threads would have spoken up and saved us all from this blatant failure.
No, many people were genuinely excited about BB10 before launch and long after.

Cool your jets. No one is trolling. If you like BB10 and it still works for you, then awesome. Keep using it. The guys like me who now use GooBerry, did use BB10. The ones I see here did love it, till it didn't work for them anymore. Once the discussion goes down the rabbit hole of "it needs to come back", voices of reason will chime in. You may not care whether they're still in business, but a lot of us do.
Nobody days that.
We know that nobody can not take the time back.
But let's be onest, Android is the only solution , not a better solution.
I remind you to say that the priv was a great phone while those who used it knows very well that, apart from the applications, it was a piece of c**p if compared to the two year older Passport.
From that day on I always knew that you were biased. and given your assiduous presence here as an opinion leader, probably also interested in some ways...
Forgive the sincerity.
This is a forum about BB10 phones and the OP posted on that topic. If the appropriate response is to bash that person for wishing blackberry still made phones or BB10, despite that water being under the bridge, then how exactly is it the 'voice of reason' to engage with something that really isn't possible?
No one is spreading some sort of useful information. They are just ******** about people venting about things no one can change.
That's trolling every bit as much as venting is, so please stop pretending as if they are fighting some righteous intellectual battle. They are poking people who are already frustrated--for no reason.
If these threads are pointless then responding to them is even more so.
So how about THEY cool their jets and leave people to their misery.

Some of you don't understand the difference between having a personal opinion, and getting personal with your opinion. For that reason, this discussion is terminated.
