Tune in radio seems to no longer be available.

How can I get apps that are blocked for the Passport?

I went to the tune in site and found the link for BlackBerry world but it says ''unavailable for this device''

    What's up with that?
Apps are a problem as it is, why do they go and make the selection even smaller?
    This is just stupid.

Get the app using snap. Your radio app is readily available in Google Play.

Yes, I did get it with snap. But why run a andriod app when Native is available.
I had it on my z10 so I am not sure why it didn't copy over.

If the app is naturally blocked for the passport, go over and use xSacha's tool and take a look at the .bar files he's posted up.

Just sideload the TuneIn app .bar file and it should work OK.

Most apps just naturally blacklisted the new devices if the developer didn't make sure it worked by a certain date!

    To sideload the file?

    Why?

Most apps work just fine even though AppWorld says that they're unavailable for the device..

No, it's a bad idea to block apps. There are not enough apps as is. This is just stupid that BlackBerry has this in BlackBerry world.

Is not BlackBerry is the developer who has to add support for new devices, is just checkmark in a box that has to be toggled

No, it's BlackBerry. Who controls BlackBerry world? Blackberry does.

Developers shouldn't be able to block devices like this.

At the very least, they should give you a warning such as ''this app is not yet supported on your device, would you like to install anyway''?

Does Google play make each developer test each app on every single Android device?

Android devs have the ability to block phones by multiple criteria including specific models. BB isn't creating new ground with what they are doing.

Why wouldn't a developer want to block devices from using software that was not designed for it. Unless I've tested it works in new devices I always block them from downloading my developed apps.

Developer hasn't tested it on new device, simple. Up to the developer.

BlackBerry's way to make sure that all apps work on all devices with a certain amount of confidence that the user experience is above grade.

Because people need to use these apps and they usually work just fine.

He's not saying your app, just most of the blocked apps.

And in fact I agree with him. Most of the blocked apps that I've sideloaded instead have worked fine, maybe 5% of them haven't.

    That's a LARGE percentage, no?

I was using the weather network and it was working fine, it now appears to be a "blocked app"

LOL you're kidding right? (unless you just mean a few specific apps)

Native performance dominates the android apps in too many ways to even specify! Battery, fluidity, speed, you name it.

Yes, some android apps run phenomenally and I won't disagree! But a proper native app always dominates a port.

Yes we do. Usually ''unsupported'' simply means untested.
I have used ''unsupported'' desktop software many times. Usually it's an older paid program that is not supported on a newer OS.

I am simply saying that the user should be notified that the app is unsupported but we should be able to click ''install anyway''
That way, the user can't complain but since they work most of the time the user can make that decision.

The user can't complaint still means users will always complaint, believe me I know this from experience and once again, is not as easy as you want it to be.

But hey, you said it already, you know better than developers.

    Point taken.
