After sharing my Passport screen on my TV, the Miracast connection never disconnects. I've only fixed this issue by manually restarting my Passport. Is there an alternative or update that I can use for a seamless connect and disconnect?

Have you tried leaving the room? I wish I had your problem, really. Mine refused to connect during a presentation, so I had to wing it without any slides.

I have been using the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (with Passport & 10.3.1.xxxx). It connects/disconnects without issue.

I have also done quite a bit of reading/searching here in the forums regarding miracast and found one of the most preferred units to be the Netgear PTV 3000. So I ordered one of these as well.

But, in my reading I don't recall anyone else having the problem of disconnecting.

I normally select the "Disconnect" button in the menu pictured above and it disconnects without issue. Therefore, I really don't have a good suggestion other than what is mentioned above or trying a different miracast device.

Leaving the room and or turning off WiFi did not fix the problem of disconnecting. I'm currently running 10.3.1.2558

I tried hooking up with miracast and through DLNA. Both connected fine and both disconnected fine. This is on Z30 tho.... can't imagine it being different on the passport but who knows....

To my knowledge, there isn't an auto connect on the phone or the TV

Try unplugging your tv from the Internet or turn off wifi on your tv.

I just noticed you are on 10.3.1.2558 and realized I just updated to .2558 this weekend and had not used miracast since updating. Anyway, I just tried it with my Microsoft WDA unit on a TV at the office and no problem at all with connect/disconnect.

NOTE: I thought the PP wifi had to be on for miracast to operate but it does not. I just connected using miracast without wifi on. Some form of wireless communication is taking place but it does not require your wifi to be turned on.

I upgraded to 10.3.1.2582 and my Mira Cast woes got worse. Audio works on my Television but the video freezes. Once I select the disconnect button on my PP, The Mira Cast disconnects from the TV, but stays connected on my PP.

Now that I'm running 10.3.1.2582, with a few restarts, the screen sharing feature via Miracast works seamlessly. Thanks again for all your help.

Are you sure about that? I don't even have the miracast option unless I turn wifi on....

Yes... sounds stange to me too........

---Settings >> Display (scroll to bottom) ..... click "Share Screen"

    Miracast won't Disconnect without Restart?-img_20150323_130320.png

    ---select your miracast device...... wah'la

    Miracast won't Disconnect without Restart?-img_20150323_111004.png

---All done while WiFi is off

    Miracast won't Disconnect without Restart?-img_20150323_111015.png

But your screen is now mirrored through the miracast connection.

If you now want to stream some content over WiFi u can certainly turn on Wifi but it will interrupt your miracast connection. No problem, simply reconnect via the miracast tab in Wifi menu or back in the Settings>>Display menu.

Again, it sounds strange to me and surprised me as well. Apparently miracast can set up its own wireless connection without a fully operable Wifi connection. Great if you have content on your device/SD card.

Just discovered same issue. Miracast will not disconnect without phone restart. Turning of wifi, leaving the room, even turning off TV and Miracast dongle do NOT resolve the issue. Only a phone restart turns it off.

    Buggy, buggy, buggy...
