I have been using a 32gb micro SD card in my Passport since I bought it last January. A couple of days ago it came up on the screen that the card was unreadable. Took it out and tried it in my BlackBerry Classic and same thing happened. So I tried to reformat the card and still same situation. Now I erased the card to start fresh, but when I erased the card and reformatted it it comes up stating that there is only 30mb of storage available on the card. Any suggestions??

Sounds like you did everything right. The free storage on an SD card is always a bit below the advertised size.

USABLE storage is always less than total capacity. Think of it as a warehouse that has a management office on site. The total square footage of the entire warehouse is fixed. The amount of space the management office takes will be relatively small compared to the total space but they need a place to operate, keep an eye on things and manage problems that may arise.

You wrote 30 MB. Did you mean 30 GB? If it's truly 30 MB, the card is toast.

Yes it shows mb not gb. I'm going to try to reformat on my PC.

THAT is a problem. The card may indeed be toast.

If you're formatting the card using FAT32 the area where the file allocation table might be toast which makes the card unusable.

That's why newer and all larger cards are formatted using exFAT.
