I am trying to install 10.3.2 through sachesi. But BlackBerry link is not detecting pp through usb. It is charging, usb cable is just fine (not BlackBerry though) sd card storage is working. I tried other cables too but no result. I dont have original BlackBerry cable right now with me. Can there be any other reason? Am I missing something? Is there some settings from phone? I have device connections on and use mobile network off because that way it is connecting through wifi only. And I am very sorry if this has been asked before but I did not find any. Thanks in advance.

It can charge and the cable might still be bad.

Is sachesi also not recognising the device??

Have you Tried reinstalling blackberry link on your macbook.
Delete the application and connect your device it will ask you what to do INSTALL DRIVERS and see if it works then..

BTW you need to close link for installation through sachesi. I am guessing you have read instructions well.

EDIT: if you haven't gone through step by step process and if its first time then go through this post.

Your jack maybe broken. Another person posted similar problems in another thread. When you plug a USB cable into your phone, how much play or wiggle is there?

Then how it is charging? And if it is broken how would I confirm it? And what to do after that?

Don't waste time reinstalling. This happened to me. Needed to use a Windows machine. No amount of fiddling with Blend or Link worked.

Apologies for stating the obvious, but have you disabled charge only mode in the settings? Go to settings->networks and connections->usb and make sure charge only mode is off. You can enable mass storage mode if you want as well.

USB has five pins plus the jack mounting which acts as a frame ground. If either the data pins or the frame ground solder joints are broken, the data will not connect, the phone will only charge.

Braking the phone's USB port is actually easy to do if the cable head is torqued just a little bit too hard. I have broken quite a few myself.

Confirmation is easy. Test the wiggle of the cable while it is plugged into your phone. If there is a lot of wiggle or play, the jack is broken and will need repair. If all you get is charge and no data access, the likelihood is strong that the phone's USB jack is broken.

When you don't have BlackBerry link on your macbook and when you connect your phone to macbook then on device it asks for permission/options about what you want to do. Install driver, charge only, ignore, access sd card.. and you are saying these doesn't come then I am guessing your device is not recognising that its connected to desktop. Try using different cable or different lappy.

It is not the cable. I have several posts regarding this. Sachesi does not recognize the device through autoconnect and the latest rev of BlackBerry software does not have the old Mac/Windows USB field. Had to find and use a Windows machine.

It is related to the version of Mac OS and Sachesi. 10.9.5 is the problem Mac OS.

I had issues with mine at one point and tried every cable I had in the house, none worked. I had previously used Sachesi many times. I bought a new cable and it worked perfectly. All the cables worked with hard drives, etc, but for some reason would not work with the phone and Sachesi. Once I got a new cable, all worked perfectly.

Oh, and BTW, I had issues doing a backup with Link on Windows as well, it would never finish. On the other hand, I could do a backup with Link for Mac with the "bad" cable, so Windows isn't necessarily the answer.

Ok I tried original cable as well but still not detecting. Were there any files on phone also like some drivers or something, because few days ago I deleted all such files from my phone memory which I didn't know what they were for.
