It's a style thing. If you've ever seen the elaborate barber's chairs (late 1800's to early 1900's), they were all upholstered with this, for that unique look. I'm also told it's soft yet durable, but have no personal experience with it.

The website is in Vietnamese, were you able to order something from them before?

Ostrich leather requires more intricate process compare to other animal skins, but because of this, you can produce different finishes for different applications. Of course this leads to much more expensive cost for production. The demand for Ostrich leather is far more greater now in fashion industries because of its flexible features.
In short, it's the new trend used by major fashion houses now.

Just send an email to [email protected] and you will get a reply by return in perfect English. I use one of their pouches and it's perfect for me.

The classic is still alligator leather. It does come with a characteristic look, which may not be to everyone's liking.

I emailed them and received a prompt reply. Costumer service was first rate.
