    Yes... the area of concern is about an inch below the Sim door on the volume control side. When pressed in that spot there is a slight flex and it makes a click. The rest of the back feels solid.

    My sim door rattles on that side. You could just be hearing it being slightly loose when you push in that spot.

    I have the same issue. The crackling noise started about a week after purchase from the UK. I noticed the phone was heating up quite a bid during the first few days, this seems to have subsided but I'm left with the cracking on the back cover when pressure is applied.

    Not sure if I should spend the time and effort exchanging the phone - what If the replacement has the same issue?

    Is there a way to fix?
