FB and whatsapp, ill find ways to user browser for fb messenger and whatsapp i can get my family to download kik or groupme or any other instant messenger. my main concern are the apps i mentioned above. also paypal i can sue via broswer.

not much of an app guy.

is it still a viable buy today? what will happen to passport after 2016 ? no support? will it be dead?

Most of those apps work as long as you download the Google play apk.

I just bought a Passport Silver coming from an iPhone 6 and Priv...and I love it. There are app gaps...I also use Think or Swim and recently...the newest update is not compatible with the current Android Runtime. You can just get an older version of the app online that works. The Facebook Web browser actually works pretty well with setting up email notifications. Instagram works and PayPal is a Web app. Overall...I this is the best phone I've ever owned..even with the app issues. Call quality is amazing and the phone feels incredibly solid, fast and looks like something a Russian BIllionaire would use.

The biggest issue from your list will be Whatsapp since they have announced that it won't be supported on BB10 after the end of this year.

PayPal would be best to use from the browser.

    Not a real issue actually

The Passport already has no support. It's both a dead hardware and dead software; the OS is astoundingly sterile and quiet.

My advice: get a PRIV or a DTEK50. Otherwise, if you insist on a Passport, just know what you're getting yourself into - that is, nothing.

Best mobile ever! You won't have any issues with these apps and I am an app person, however I don't care about the apps that stop working for BB10 when you own a device like this you can't and won't care most apps anyway.

I would rather suggest keeping an Android or iOS device as primary and then going for Passport SE as a secondary device. IMO, BB10 OS has already started getting end-of-life treatment from app developers as well as from BlackBerry itself.... although I consider it to be most capable and very productive OS... but it has not done well in terms of market share and popularity among app developers and that affects most users some or the other way.

Great choice for a phone...............most apps work unless tied direct to google play/security. Also you can use the browser based programs and link them direct to your home screen. Looks just like and app.....and works well too.

Use face10 for Facebook, igrann for Instagram, or if not then download and install the Google play store into your device.

Fully agree. Have the same setup..my Passport SE and my PRIV that receives constant updates on features and security. Enjoy both and surprised how smooth the PRIV goes.
